Well, then I think the choice is pretty simple. Come over and we can have all kinds of snacks and find something good to watch.
Awesome! You got any ideas on what we should watch?

Well, then I think the choice is pretty simple. Come over and we can have all kinds of snacks and find something good to watch.

Well Connor, you have come to the right place. I am the queen of avoiding responsibilities. We could hide in my family’s home theatre and watch something on Netflix.
I knew I came to the right person! And I love the way you think, Netflix sounds a million times better then working with the stupid practice prosthetic when I don’t even want one.
“So.” Connor said casually, “I have a very important question; can you assist me in avoiding my physical therapy appointment?” he asked before breaking out into a grin, “All I ask is company and maybe help hiding if it comes to that.”
Pandora kept looking away, studying the sky instead. She had no idea why she’d brought it up. It wasn’t like talking about it changed what had happened. “Of course I didn’t. But he still died trying to bring me back home. If it weren’t for me, he’d still be alive.” Her voice was empty, void of feeling. To hide that the fact of the matter was, indie she was still hurting. Inside she was still grieving. This current tragedy in Roxbury had just brought up every bad memory every fear and sorrow she’d ever experienced.Â
Connor shook his head, “You can’t think like that, it sounds like it was just an accident. Stuff like that ... it could happen anytime. It’s random, it doesn’t make any sense. It’s not your fault.” he told her honestly.Â
Well, ahhh, could you, ummmm, tell me where it is?
I can show you, if you want?
Yeah, this isn’t anyone’s idea of fun.
No, definitely not. I feel bad saying I wish things would calm back down though, cause I know it really effected a lot of people.
Chloe grinned from ear to ear. “We need to make some new rules around here. Brownies for dinner at least twice a week.” Of course she was kidding but, just playing around was oddly refreshing. Also he seemed to be both in high spirits and feeling good so that gave them the opportunity to do so. To just be silly siblings, to put worry and sorrow and fear away for a while. “Yes, I’ll get right on that. You take this.” She handed him the blender, before making sure the end was securely put in the electric socket, fully charged and ready to go. Chlo didn’t let go until Connor had the blender, then she found the measuring cup, and measured the flour and milk so they’d have something to start with.Â
Connor laughed, “I like that idea!” he said though he knew she was kidding. He liked when it was just him and his siblings. On the rare occasions his parents were around, everything felt tense to Connor, like he could never really be himself, because they would never really approve of anything he did. But when it was just him and Chloe, or Colin, he could feel normal, and forget how crazy his life was for just a little while. “Do you think Colin will be back in time to have brownies too?” he asked as he took the blender.
I want ahhhh, decent tacos… Do you, ummm, know where I should, ahhh, look?
Tacos? Yeah, there’s a couple good places in town actually, only one’s pretty close though.
I agree, and that’s strange for Roxbury.
Yeah, it’s usually pretty boring here. Never wanted it to be exciting like this though.
Chloe craved some light to pierce all the darkness that surrounded them. She wanted to see Connor smile, not because he was trying to assure her or cheer her up, but because he genuine could not keep from smiling. She wanted to hear him laugh, she wanted to laugh with him. Of course all their problems would not disappear within a day or even a night but, they could be put on hold, momentarily forgotten. Her eyes observantly studying the contents of the cabinets, Chloe started pulling out the basics. Flour, baking soda, eggs from the fridge, and milk. She saw Connor had already found a bowl, so she fished a blender out of a kitchen drawer. “I don’t know.. I mean we shouldn’t make too much.. but I also want brownies for dinner so.” She shrugged with a playful grin.Â
Connor laughed at his sister’s comment, “I am so on board for brownies for dinner!” he agreed happily, he wasn’t feeling sick and he planned to take full advantage of that. He hoped they could both - all, once Colin came home - get their minds off all that had been happening and just have a good night. There was too much worrying, too much sadness. Everyone needed a break. “Alright so ... you can measure stuff, and dump it in the bowl and I’ll mix?” he offered.
Elijah laughed at his point about getting away with stuff. That was right, he wasn’t going to deny it at all, he could definitely get away with more stuff than he could now… but he didn’t want to actually make his mother worry more. She was already clinging to him and requesting texts at every break he had, he didn’t want her to get worse. “I’ll have to consider that when I don’t wanna do my homework some days.”
Connor grinned proudly, “Awesome. I’ll wait for my chance to teach you then.” he said, wondering what his siblings would think if they knew he had someone to teach now. Once they were both in better shape, he had a feeling he and Elijah could get in an awful lot of trouble together. “So, we should do something fun.”
That is very true, things will calm down soon though..
I hope so, it’s all a little crazy now.
“Yeah, that’s what I hear.” Aaron bent down, picking up the journal he’d tossed to the side. The building he’d been sitting againstand drawn every bit of warmth from his body and only now was he feeling it. “Uh…any suggestions?”
Connor paused for a moment as he pulled up a mental map of the area, “Actually, I’m pretty sure there’s a coffee shop just a couple blocks that way.” he said, nodding in the direction.Â
“Man thats so nice of you! I will do that. This town isn’t that huge but I need to get to know it as well as I can. Cause I’m pretty sure I’m going to be living here for a long long time.” Kayden said, thinking of Carson as he did.Â
Connor grinned, “Well, that’s good. It really is a great town, I mean ... I know it probably doesn’t seem like that lately.” he added a little awkwardly, “But, um, this is usually a good place.”
Pandora only nodded. Some topics were more of a challenge to talk about than others, some where the ones you preferred to speak of as little as possible. She understood that. More than he knew. “Partly responsible for my older brothers death. Does that qualify?” She asked, thought it wasn’t a question in that sense. No she wasn’t responsible for taking a bunch of lives, but the one she’d taken had been the most precious to her. She’d involuntarily taken away her own happiness and Lennon’s as well.Â
Connor blinked slightly, surprised by that statement, “I, um, I really don’t think you meant to hurt him. If you did at all.” he said after a moment, knowing how people could blame themselves for things that weren’t their fault. “So, I don’t think it does.”
Elijah laughed along with him, having meant it as a joke in the first place. “Hopefully I won’t have to try that though.” He pointed out with a shrug and stuck his hands in his pockets. “My stomach hurts, not gonna lie. But I mean the meds help with that and my mom is like… sucking up to me. So that’s fun.”
“Hopefully.” Connor agreed with a grin, “Though I can show you plenty of other ways to get what you want ... or get in trouble.” he added, though he frowned slightly when the younger boy said he was still in pain. He knew that sucked. “It’ll get better soon, I’m sure. And until then you can milk it, get away with all kinds of stuff.”
I guess that is true, I just have a lot going on right now.
Yeah, I get that. I think everybody kind of does.
