X-Factor Auditions Come To A Dramatic Close
Tonight at 8PM on ITV the X-Factor auditions came to a dramatic end with the final day of hopefuls trying to get a place at Boot-camp.
The show started with 18 Year Old Soheila Clifford who’s parents have remortgaged their house TWICE for her to pursue her dreams. I wouldn’t say she was the greatest singer and her song choice was just terrible. It won’t surprise me if she’s placed into a girl-group at Boot-camp.
Next up were Girl-Group 4 Of Diamonds made up from Yasmin 17, Caroline 19, Sophia 19 and Lauren 22 who I think have the potential to be great BUT the styling and harmonies need a lot of work. But individually they all sound good these girls can be great and if a girl group is going to make it into the live shows it’ll be these four.
“You better sing honey.” were the first words out of Nicole Scherzingers mouth when 22 Year Old Nate Simpson started belting out “A Change Is Gonna Come” a very soulful voice and he’s heading straight to Boot-camp with 4 Yes’. I’m just not sure he’s strong enough to make it through to the live shows by himself.
DAMN. 46 Year Old Singer/Songwriter Christopher Peyton from Virginia was up next. Now living in the UK for almost 20 Years. He grew up singing in church and you can totally tell that from his performance. You can just feel the emotions from his voice. Plus he’s such a nice guy you just wanna see him do well. In my opinion he’ll make in to Judge’s House’s but i’m not sure if he’ll make it into those live shows.
Next up we had 63 Year Old Cori Burns who literally rode up into the audition room on her scooter or should i say “cockatoo.” Simon Cowell recognised her from when she had dropped some of her songs into Simon’s record label. I have to say my favourite moment from this audition was when Simon said “Louis likes a cockatoo.” This audition just had to much “cockatoo” talk and unfortunately she will not be making it through to Boot-camp.
‘I recognise you’ was my first thought when i seen Will Rush walk into the audition room from being a massive fan of Waterloo Road. He took his jacket off put his guitar on and sang his own version of Zara Larrson’s Lush Life and he killed it with four yes’ and he’s off to Boot-camp.
32 Year Old Landlady Samantha Atkinson who made it into Boot-camp last year who just happened to be in Ryan Ruckledge’s group and was rudely interrupted during her solo in the group performance. She belted out her version of Adele’s - When We Were Young. Simon wasn’t too sure calling her a “pub singer.” but I totally disagree with that, especially when they’ve put through act’s that can’t even hold a tune.
Next up we had girl-group … or i guess not. Turns out they ran out of time for anyone else who was waiting to audition so Kirsty Murphy stormed the audition room to show the Judge’s how much she really wanted it. Sharon Osbourne wasn’t impressed with her pitching and said “no” but the other 3 Judge’s gave her a chance and sent her to bootcamp. Let’s just see if the public will also give her a chance after her storming that girl-groups audition who we will probably never hear from again.
Next up we had 23 Year Old Garry Greig and i fell completely in love with him during his audition. His look, accent, voice this guy has it all and should be a sure bet for the live shows. Rumour has it he actually just missed out on being 1/5 of One Direction, now he’s back to prove he can do it solo and i am all in TEAM GARY.
Next we had the very last audition of the series and to say I was shocked to see who it was is an understatement. It was Mike Hough. I remember this guy from Twitter/YouTube at one point i kept seeing his name everywhere and it seemed like the guy was finally making it and then nothing. But now he’s on X-Factor and i have no doubt that this guy will be a star. His voice is so good and he has that star quality about him.
Tune into ITV/7:30PM tomorrow to see the dramatic return of Boot-camp. Watch some of our hopefuls crumble at the next hurdle and some of the underdogs rise to the occasion.
