Overall, it was a delight to be working with a group of multi-disciplinary brilliant students and we will be submitting a proposal for EOI New Plymouth. This is only just the beginning of IVY.

Tuesday 22/05 Nathaniel booked out the camera and gimbal from Photography studio!🙌🏻 And the weather slowly became miserable for all of us... ridiculously windy!! Fiona scouted for trees around campus, the ones on Wallace St outside the Health-Science block but it was terribly windy on that side and in the end, we installed IVY on the tree near Tasman street.

Fiona books out the White/Lighting studio (B12 A) for tonight’s shoot. Since everyone in the team is free tonight to shoot. We intended again to shoot at one of the potential sites at the waterfront but yet again the weather wasn’t in our favour... Instead we caught up later in the afternoon again at Block 12 E Floor to scout for trees on campus to install our IVY prototype to shoot.
Josiah sketched some spacial design concepts of how will IVY be installed at the potential sites at the waterfront for IVY.

Wednesday 16/05 As assumed, the weather wasn’t suitable for us to go and set up the prototype at the potential sites at the waterfront... Instead, Josiah, Nicholas, Nathaniel, and Fiona carried the prototype, battery voltage pack and video/photography equipment from Block 11 to Block 12 A.
Super lucky and grateful to TOYSTORE - Durgie for giving Fiona the swipe key access to Block 12 A, even though inductions haven’t been done, but we’re just photographing/videograph our prototype. Managed to get photo & video camera! At first, we weren’t sure to hang the prototype on some poll or coat-hanger stand, to give an illusion that it’s in a tree as we wanted to initially do until the annoying bad weather. But we decided to scrap it and just test some shoots of it spread and laid out flat on the ground.
Josiah set up the settings for the photography camera, Nicholas laid-out the optic fibers and when we looked at it - straight away we all said it’s an IVY. Nathaniel videograph IVY, Fiona photographed. Nicholas had to continuously keep on pumping water through the heatsink so that the LEDs doesn’t overheat... and whenever we weren’t shooting, we had to turn it for it to cool down.

Tuesday 15/05 Fiona missed class today due to First Aid Training. The rest of the team - Nicholas, Helen, Josiah, Nathaniel carried on with finalising the prototype build and presented to the class briefly of the current stage of where we are at.
Fiona booked the White / Lighting Studio B12A just incase if tomorrow’s - (Wednesday 16/05) weather was not in our favour... Since today was miserable with the rain!!😞 Nathaniel booked out the Photography equipment and studio incase if TOYSTORE doesn’t allow our group to photograph our prototype because we all haven’t completed the induction. Fiona and Helen have last year, but new equipment has been updated and induction refresher is needed...
