It was a normal day, nothing particularly interesting about it. Vanessa was doing what she had been for most of the break since they got back from Boston. She was sitting on the couch in a pair of gym shorts and a tank top with Bob curled up beside her and Wendy on her lap....
Vanessa looked towards the door thr moment she heard his voice. She needed him in closer, hell she probably needed him to jump with her to survive that. She could hear Wendy and Bob barking their heads off from somewhere near the kitchen, she was surprised someone hadn’t shot them yet. “I can’t make the jump!” She screamed from her spot in the window, the gun fire stopped. She heard heavey footsteps walk towards the bathroom door and then they walked away. Kane walked out of the bathroom and into the living room, he had recognized Wade’s voice as well. “I was wondering when you’d show up.” Kane told him with a smirk, raising his metal arm up towards Wade. “Listen, Wade, you drop the gun. We’re not here for you. You notice her headaches, they’re worse; her memories starting to fail her, too.” Kane explained, “She needs to come with us. She doesn’t belong here.” “Don’t listen to him, Wade!” Vanessa screamed taking a deep breath as she leandd back againdt the wall, climbing down into the bathroom. The guys in the bedroom must have hesrd and started trying to get into the bathroom again. Vanessa wouldn’t admit the headaches had been coming more frequently. She wouldn’t let Wade know she had been writing things down to remember them or filming herself reminders; having started the moment she woke up one morning and realized she couldn’t remember Wade’s middle name. “She’ll be safe with us. She’ll be doing what she loves, we’ll take care of her.” Kane continued, “With any luck she’ll forget all about you.” Kane added with a smirk that faded the bullet hit his hip. Vanessa was standing in the doorway of the bathroom, glaring.
