I saw a vid earlier that accurately captures my main gripes with Gunn’s DCU.

Although I enjoyed Supergirl (didn’t read the comic they claimed it was based on until after I watched it and wow they just completely ignored most of it)

What they brought up is that the buildup to this new universe feels scattershot and unfocused. Like Supergirl here doesn’t really change much and this it’s not exciting to the audience it feels like a small detour spin-off and not the continuation of a larger universe which is fine if not for the fact this is the second major movie. Even then the movie could have done some cool worldbuilding like hint towards the Thanagarians and Krypton’s relationship or see the Green Lantern of Krypton section of space like aside from seeing Argo which betting will be followed up by Brainiac in Superman 2.

Then there’s the theme for this phase is allegedly gods and monsters but where are the Gods? I see the monsters but no Gods if anything it’s been more Sci-fi aliens what with Superman, Supergirl and soon Lanterns. 

Like we weren’t in a rush for a Supergirl movie when Wonder Woman hasn’t even been established yet and really should be a priority. Like it’s absurd that villain Circe was in Creature Commandos for some reason. With Absolute Wonder Woman being selling well it feels almost irresponsible how much she’s being shafted. 

Gods & Monsters and exactly zero mythical gods are present. smh.

It genuinely feels like Gunn is less building up a universe and more just greenlighting shit he likes.

Nah having concerns and getting frustrated at the lack of Wonder Woman is valid. She’s a core pillar of the DC universe and her Absolute Comics are selling very well.

It’s absurd we have not heard anything about any concrete plans for a Wonder Woman project and the Paradise Lost TV series seems to be in development hell at this point cause we have not heard anything else while Peacemaker, Creature Commandos and now Lanterns is happening.

The DCU startin to feel like "random bullshit go!" at this point.

OMG just because James Gunn doesn’t tell personally what’s happening with Wonder Woman doesn’t mean it’s not getting worked on! If you want a rushed WW then go watch Zack Snyder’s 1984. Oh but Gunn isn’t doing what you want so now all of sudden you’ve always know the DCU would be a mess, give me a break. And you hating on Supergirl just because there’s no WW is really pathetic

Mind you 3 years ago HE specifically said he PERSONALLY was working on getting a Wonder Woman animated series greenlit only to never mention it ever again. He did however green lite 20 other animated shows in the meantime.

I wouldn't be so far up his ass if he didn't go out of his way to say he was working on WW. If he didn't then I wouldn't be so hard on him, but when he says he working on a WW animated show and then instead we get a Krypto, Beast Boy, Kite man and Joker show instead I'm gonna be a little annoyed.

Also the Paradise Lost show was announced 3 years ago and has not moved an inch other than "its still being written, trust me bro". Meanwhile a Deathstroke & Bane movie was announced and is being fast tracked. How am I supposed to react to that other than anger?

Zack Snyder's take on DC was ass, but atleast he understood to build up the DCEU with the big leagues first. Superman, Batman and Wwonder woman. WONDER WOMAN WAS THE FOURTH DCEU MOVIE!!!

The DCU isn't gonna see a Wonder Woman movie for at least another 5 years at best. You need to understand how frustrating that is. Especially when her game was canceled, her main book is ass and her supposed animated show is DOA. But don't worry, Jimmy Olsen is getting a show.

Also I don't hate Supergirl cus WW isn't in it. I don't even hate it. Its painfully mid that looks ugly.
