“It is. You can find out a lot about yourself when you travel from place to place on your own,” he agrees. “Cliche to some but the open road does think clear your mind so you can tackle the bigger things at hand.”
“Back on subject though. I believe that is called lacking common sense but having plenty of book smarts. I’ve noticed people like that usually are a bit sheltered. They never needed common sense because everything was spoon fed to them. That’s just my humble opinion.”
“To some, it seems like a trope, but then again, they likely haven’t done it themselves. Or have a different perspective. I’ve always moved, I think the longest place I ever lived was in San Francisco for college.” A small personal detail for the sake of conversation. Nothing major, nothing terribly impressive in the grand scheme of things.
“It is, you aren’t wrong. It’s a common ailment within the community of highly intelligent. And I won’t argue with the idea of a good deal being sheltered. Most give off that vibe. Some don’t and that always kind of fascinates me.” Rhys smiles despite the topic. “Either way, I get to call you brainy until proven otherwise.”
The Brit smirks at her as he merges into traffic. “Trust me, that won’t take long for me to disprove but at least I’ll have my charm and good looks to carry me through! And I’ve heard that San Francisco is quite an amazing city. That it has a bit of old school charm in certain areas while others are bustling with life. Is that true? Tell me a bit ‘bout your college experience. What did you major in?”
Once he was settled into the stream of traffic, he settles his hand against her knee before giving it a light squeeze.
