𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘 to the annual 2020 Pokémon World Tournament, held in the one-and-only Unova! With trainers (idols, professors, rivals, gym leaders, elites… villains?!) all coming along to try their hand at the grand prize of winning the tourney (or perhaps for other reasons), applications to play a role in this adventure are now OPEN.
LIBERTY PASS is a Discord-based literate server RP, welcoming muses from Pokéspe and Gameverse to participate in a series of group events and interactions. Alright I’ve got some for his main team so this is going to be fun... SCIZOR Scizor is his ace! While he does view Pokémon as tools to progress his own strength and position in the world, he does care for his Scizor more than he’d admit, even if she is a Shadow Pokémon. He can Mega Evolve her, though per the Pokédex entry - it does cause her to overheat much faster due to the Shadow process, so he’ll only do it if he’s getting desperate. She was the first Pokémon he caught after getting to Kanto. CHARIZARD Charizard was the first Pokémon he got after joining GO - he hatched her from an egg! He didn’t use her much at first as he has a preference for steel types, but started using her more when he was attempting to become the Valor leader - and even more after he defected to Rocket as to build a team similar to Candela’s to beat her at her own game. STEELIX So going with my head canon of Arlo being from Orre and specifically him being related to Cipher Admin Venus, following the canon timeline of Colosseum and XD - Venus went missing somewhere in the five year gap, though participated in battles in The Under. Arlo idolizing her went to see if he could find her, but found her Steelix instead. Steelix is an original Shadow Pokémon and not his version, so he tends to be a lot more aggressive than his other Pokémon. MAGNEZONE He has two Magnezones! One he captured while in GO, and when he was first attempting to create a new method to turn Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon - he purified his Magnezone after a successful attempt because at the time, he was still sorting out the kinks in how aggressive they were. His second Magnezone was caught after he joined Rocket as to replace his first one and is still a Shadow Pokémon. FLYGON While still in Orre, yet after he ran away, he stole a Snag Machine from Team Snagem. Flygon was a Pokémon he captured with the Snag Machine, and thus, was the first Pokémon he ever stole from someone. Yet, at that time in his life, it hadn’t been malicious. He had intended to release the Pokémon and return it to its owner, but it proved to be so much of an asset to him that he kept it instead. SALAMANCE Arlo captured Salamance as a Bagon to partner with Candela’s Salamance. This is one of the Pokémon he’s kept solely to build a Shadow team similar to Candela’s as to beat her at her own game...not to mention, it’s incredibly strong. DRAGONITE Arlo had a few grunts steal Dragonite as a Dratini from a trainer in Celedon City as a test subject for his Shadow research after joining Rocket where he got increased funding. It was a test to see if Stolen Pokémon would still be aggressive, or if his methods to erase the aggression would still hold through. GYARADOS Gyarados was captured after he left the GO Initiative as to allow him an upper hand against Candela’s fire types, and to throw people off if they come at his team expecting a full roster of steel and fire types. PONYTA Ponyta is the only shiny Pokémon Arlo owns, and his only untouched Pokémon when it comes to Shadow and Purified. She was hatched from an egg while he was still in GO, and it’s more so the sentiments and memories of showing her off to the other researchers that made him leave her untouched. BISHARP In order to get to Kanto, Arlo took a boat from Castelia City in Unova (as in my mind, Orre and Unova are next to each other given they’re both based off areas in the USA) and in travelling from Orre to Unova, he came across a Pawniard. He captured it solely to have another powerful steel type on his roster. NINETAILS Captured when he was in the GO Initiative still as Valor primarily focused on fire types and he felt he needed to expand his control and knowledge over them. He hardly uses her anymore, but he never released her. BLASTOISE Another water type captured after he left GO as to focus on covering his weak points - or rather, just once again to throw people off. MAWILE Quite honestly, he only captured Mawile as to expand once more on how many steel types he had, though the duel typing of fairy has proved useful to him when trainers attempt to go against his team with dragon types.
