Toyota GR GT Prototype, 2025. Gazoo Racing has presented road and track versions of a new front-mid-engined supercar that is a FIA GT3-spec race car . It has bespoke all-aluminium architecture and a newly developed hybrid system pairing a 4.0-litre, V8 twin-turbo engine with a single electric motor. The total output of 650PS drives through a rear transaxle with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox with a wet clutch. The centre of gravity of heavy components, such as the V8 engine with dry-sump lubrication, rear-mounted transaxle, and other major mechanisms, has been significantly lowered through optimised positioning. This configuration helps achieve a near-ideal 45:55 front-to-rear weight distribution. Development of both versions is continuing, and no pricing details have been announced, but customer deliveries should start in 2027.
