you were in your room, laying down half asleep as you checked your gmail for the fifth time today. you had signed up for a cortis fansign, you did a go, spent half of your savings just to be able to get more chances, yet it didn't seem to have worked.

as the screen loaded you saw it.

subject: 🎉 congratulations! you have been selected for the [cortis] fansign event 🎉 from: weverse shop [email protected]

you felt your heart drop to your stomach as you re-read the subject. staring at your screen for 30 seconds completely still to then stand up so quickly you felt dizzy for a second.

'shut the fuck up' you mouthed now.

as realization dawned upon you you felt your hands shake, adrenaline running through your veins.

'mom! mom!!' you exclaimed loudly running out of your room and just all around the house with no stop as you screamed excited.

your parents on the sofa watching a movie as you ran all around the house like a chicken with no head.

'hey, hey. what's going on?' your mom asked curious as you now stopped right in front of the tv jumping in place excited.

'mom i made it' you handed your parents the phone, still jumping in place. you could feel the tears slowly blur your vision.

'oh, baby you made it! congratulations, darling' your mom said with a warm smile.

your parents took you to the mall where the auditorium was, leaving you by yourself as they went to spend the day somewhere else. you walked around preparing post it questions for members, bookmarking pages, preparing your speech, trying to calm yourself down, but it was impossible.

when you finally got to the auditorium you had the number 27, third row middle, pretty close, perfect.

you could see the fansites preparing their cameras and set ups, fans talking with each other and waiting patiently. you talked with the girl next to you who seemed to have experience in this little world.

she was kind and agreed on recording your interaction with the guys and send it to you as you were going to be queued up together. you were so thankful for that.

when the guys started stepping in you momentarily froze. fans cheering for them as you felt a knot in your throat.

the nerves, the adrenaline, everything mixed was being too much, but it got even worse when you felt seonghyeon's gaze land right on you.

he gave you a soft smile, the one you loved so much and you could not move for the life of you, just staring at him wide eyed and red as a tomato which made him chuckle.

you blinked a couple times trying to process what just happened, heat rushing up your cheeks as you looked away pretending to focus on the member next to him. you could still feel his gaze though, like it burned through you.

you cheered for them as they introduced themselves.

seonghyeon sitting right at the center which was in front of you. his gaze kept on landing right onto you, making it hard for you to focus on the other members or anything in general.

when it was finally your turn, you stood up clutching your album so tightly your knuckles turned white. your legs felt like jelly as the staff guided you closer.

you went through james first, he was kind, fun. he could see your hands shake and smiled at you.

'don't worry, we don't bite' he said making you smile.

the next member was keonho, but you could feel seonghyeon's eyes following you before he focused on the person in front of him.

keonho was kind, offering you a big smile he greeted you and led the conversation making you relax a bit.

'who's your favorite member?' he asked then and you felt the warmth creep up your neck.

's-seonghyeon' you said shyly almost in a whisper which made him laugh.

'makes sense, your vibes match really well.'

the staff grabbed your album now, setting it in front of seonghyeon as they told you to move.

he laughed again, the sound rich and teasing.

'true... well, i'll look for you just in case you decide to come... we have schedules after classes too, but focus on your studies, yeah?'

the staff was already moving your album to martin.

'high five?' he asked lifting his hand. you high fived him as you stood up slowly to move seats, but he interlinked your fingers, shaking it a bit before letting you go with a smile.

you swore you could explode right there.

as you sat in front of martin now, the taller guy saw your flustered state laughing at you.

'cute.. hi' he greeted you warmly.

martin was funny, also complimented your outfit and your accessories. juhoon was kind, attentive and saying he hoped you enjoyed it. asking you to come to more schedules too and you said you'd try.

as you sat down the girl next to you started talking now, laughing and chuckling as you both watched the replay of her video. both of you smiling and red. exchanging socials and passing time as you waited for the guys to be done with the fansign.

when the last person was now on martin you saw seonghyeon lay his head on top of his arm which was against the table. looking at you with a soft gaze as you froze.

your new friend took pictures of him right in that moment.

'i think he wants you' the girl teased and you both giggled, even though you were about to lose your damn mind.

once the last person sat down they did a q&a, performed the songs and interacted with fans.

you recorded, took some pictures and videos, cheered for them and tried to make the most of it, but you couldn't stop locking eyes with seonghyeon throughout the whole fansign.

as it finished you got up and decided to have dinner with the girl, talk about it and check the signed albums. when you got to seonghyeon's page you felt like running to wherever he was and ask him what are we?

that night you could barely sleep from the leftover adrenaline rush. the simple message engraved in your head.
