The bar and the water
water reflections seems to always give an infinite amount of different interesting ways to study them... and yet all you learn becames so hard to apply when coming up with scenes all by yourself! Posted using PostyBirb
Impressions of reading in green
I work little with human figures in my morning sketches. Mostly because I try draw people when they are not aware of me and 'cause most people move too much. But people who read give me the chance to do quite nice pencil work from time to time... Still... sceneries are my fav subject when drawing from real :) Posted using PostyBirb

Park scenes with sun and rain
Morning sketches are a perfect occasion to study all sorts of things. Rainy days gave me a lot to think about, but so did sunny ones. Latters happened a lot more lately, and the relative scenes are langer and more complex 'cause, well, it's not raining. Wet surfaces are kinda tricky with pencils: it always seems to me I don't have the right tonalities in my pencils pouch. Posted using PostyBirb

Stairs in the woods
The park where i usually go to do sketches has stairs built as il they were made from sedimentary rock, with a very rough conglomerate-like texture. Truly pretty :) Posted using PostyBirb
Ponds, vegetation and reflections
Been going steadily at the park almost every morning for a quick sketch. Now that I'm doing little scenes I'm acquiring more confidence with the pencils. I think I'll soon try work with only pencils for imaginary stuff too... Anyway nature has so many beautiful things you can portrait! Choosing can be very tricky! Posted using PostyBirb
Planetarium
New pencil morning sketch! THis time of the Plnetarium. Played a bit around with tonalities Posted using PostyBirb
Bestie da fiera
Last week I was at the AFA festival with the guys from Gargo fanzine (I'm currently working on a comic project for them :) ). THe place was cool, was an occupied building and the people selling their art there were of all sorts. There was music and beer. It was fun and I could use my new guache to make this little sketch here :) Posted using PostyBirb
Testing out different pencils combinations
-Where are you?! Come fight me!- I Kill Giants is one of those graphic novels that just Needed To Be. It's one of the best graphic novel i've ever read so, when i heard about the film, i prayed hard for it to be true to the orginal source material. All in all I wasn't disappointed: it's a great movie. It doesn't reach the peaks of the graphic novel but it does have some truly wonderful moments. And this one is my favourite: it tells so much.
Sometimes you need to get yourself a moment of peace, out of the impossible fight for survival you’re involved with. What better way than visit your dearest friend? So i went to Bordeaux for a weekend. Beautiful city with long walks along the river Garonna littered with areas for sports, small intricate streets, pretty gardens and monuments and lots of people going around by bike. I miss the bike. I miss the feeling of life progressing. Bordeaux has a botanical garden with isles where different vegetation landscapes are reproduced: a truly interesting experiment worth of visiting, in particular if you’re a biologist :) The museum of fine arts is small, oddly diveded in two buildings facing each other, but in it a found a few canvas i truly liked. Got stuck by “St. Sebastian aided by irene” attributed to Maître à la Chandelle. Can’t really say why: something in the expressions and the candle-lit atmosphere… (you can check it out here:http://www.musba-bordeaux.fr/en/e-cards) I walked and sketched for most part of the last day of my visit, as i had the airplane back quite late. A weekend is really a short time to visit a dear friend, yet that weekend at Bordeaux had the breath of a lifetime.
Finally my story "The Mouse and the Sultan's Garden" created for last year's Inktober is out! Love, long runs and, most of all, strange creatures cooked up in a odd fairytale by myself!
