A/N: This was another request by an anon on tumblr! This is the last request that involves Jack! (I may write more in the future cause I LOVE HIM SO MUCH) anyway, enjoy!
āWe should get a dog.ā Jack said randomly. He looked off in the distance as if he was imagining what the bunker would be like with a pet.
āSorry, but I donāt do dogs.ā Dean replied. With that, he stood up and walked into the kitchen for another beer.
Sam didnāt have a clear explanation why Dean didnāt like dogs, but he did have many guesses on what it could beā¦he didnāt bother to ask him about it.
āWhy do you want a dog all of a sudden?ā Sam asked Jack. He narrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
āTheyāre cute and fluffy. And you get to raise and train them,ā Jack paused. āI heard someone say that a dog is a manās best friend!ā He was trying his best to convince Sam to see his side of the argument.
āThatās just a saying, Jack.ā Sam gave him a soft expression. āWe canāt have any pets here. When we go on hunts whoās going to take care of them?ā He questioned.
āI donāt know.ā Jack shrugged.
āWe donāt have enough time to train it or the money for any of the supplies.ā Sam added.
āOh, I seeā¦ā Jack sighed. He looked down at his hands in his lap, he didnāt understand what the big deal was, but maybe Sam was right.
Sam got up from his chair and walked into the kitchen where his brother stood. Dean leaned against the counter top, sipping his beer in small intervals.
āDoes he still want a dog?ā Dean asked.
āYep. Heās upset about it but I think I got through to him.ā Sam hoped. He took a swig of his beer.
It was at that moment, that Sam knew he was entirely wrong. The Winchesters both snapped their heads in the direction of the living room when they heard what sounded like yelps and howls. Sam and Dean both looked at each other before they jogged down the hallway and into the living room. They couldnāt believe their eyes.
Surrounded by Jack (who was sitting on the floor), was a whole litter of puppies. They ran at Jack as fast as they could and toppled over his legs. Each puppy was picking fights with each other and wagging their tails excitedly. Jack had the biggest smile on his face, he looked down at each puppy and attempted to pet each and every one, so none of them felt left out.
āLook! Look at them all!ā Jack cried.
He found a paper bag and scrunched it up into a ball. He threw the it down the hallway and all of the puppies went barreling down the hallway towards Sam and Dean, chasing after the home-made toy.
āWhat the-ā Dean jumped out of the way, earning a funny look from Sam.
āJack, how did-how did you do this? Where did they come from?!ā Sam asked. He was astonished. How did Jack manage to conjure up all of those puppies? Thereās no logical answer.
āI donāt knowā¦I just really wanted a dog and the next thing I see is a bunch of puppies running towards me!ā Jack explained.
āWell what are we going to do with them?ā Dean looked at Sam. One of the puppies had started to tug on his jeans with all his strength. Dean gently shoved him aside, but the puppy came running back.
āIām not sure, but we should get rid of them before he starts naming them-ā Sam started.
āDonāt push Harvey!ā Jack exclaimed. He called the newly named puppy over and scooped him up into his arms.
āI understand that we canāt keep themā¦so I want to make sure that they get good homes.ā Jack stood up, and pointed to a large box at the other side of the room. On it he wrote āFREEā.
One by one they placed the puppies into the box. Jack said his dearest goodbyes to all of them before getting into the impala and driving to the pet store. Sam and Dean let Jack go into the store himself. He came out moments later without the box in his hands.
Jack slowly climbed into the impala and put his seatbelt on. He looked at the pet store through the window. Dean watched him through the rear view mirror, a small frown was on his face. Sam broke the silence and said;
āTheyāll find a great home, donāt worry.ā
āYeah, I know.ā
āYouāll get a dog one day, okay?ā Dean added.
āYeah,ā Jack thought. āOne day.ā
