This year we'll have the Cosplay Fashion Show again at the CosDay². On the PublicStage on Saturday, the 9th of July, at 2 pm you'll be able to present you Cosplay and amaze the audience!

For the shy ones among you, if you don't feel like posing, you don't have to and don't be afraid, neither the audience nor the moderators will bite. So just give it a try. We're looking forward to see you on stage!

Japanese tea ceremony at CosDay² 2016

The Japanese green tea „Matcha“ has become quite popular in Germany and is getting more and more visible in stores. But how do you prepare „Matcha“ correctly and how does it taste actually?

The Japanese tea mistress Soukou Yoshimura will show you a real tee ceremony (Chadô) at the CosDay² 2016.  Experience how Japanese Tradition comes to life with the tea ceremony and discover the Japanese hospitality in a new way!

Miss Yoshimura is the leader of the tea ceremony group „Shikoukai“ in Wiesbaden, which is part pf a Japanese tea ceremony branch called „Ura-Senke“ and has been teaching her students in the performance of the tea ceremony for 15 years.  

If you want to try „Matcha“, you'll get a chance during the tea ceremony. We plan to allow a limited number of guests to partake in the ceremony to drink freshly prepared Macha and also enjoy some Japanese sweets. How you can partake in the tea ceremony will be announced soon.

Games, fun and highscores

This year we teamed up with a gamesroom supplier called Gamesroom SVvAMP. They suport us with equipment and specialist assistance. These consoles anf games will be available:

Consoles: PS4, PS3, PS2, Xbox 360 und Wii U

Games: Pokémon, Tekken, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8, Street Fighter V, Naruto S.U.N. Storm 4 and Dance Dance Revolution

There will also be some comepetitions – further details on that will follow.

Minato's Otaku life in Germany

Mintao is an exchange student from japan and lives in Düsseldorf. She tells us about her life as a japanese otaku in germany. She informs about the latest trends from japan and will let you know what stands behind the terms „KanColle", „TouRabu" or „LoveLive".

She will let you in on how she feels about being an otaku in germany and will discuss the matter.

Live Drawing on the U-Stage

We're proud to announce that this year we will host a very special show on the U-Stage. It is a session of two Manga artists, who will be drawing live for you. There will be two slots with one artist to show you how they accomplish their drawings. The performers are famous german Manga artist Martina Peters and newcomer Lunaly. Besides just drawing on stage they will also explain the specifics of digital drawing and coloring.

Stormtrooper conquers CosDay²

Phoenix James from Star Wars visits

The actor Phoenix James, acknowledged as a First Order Stormtrooper in several key scenes in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as well as appearances in James Bond’s Skyfall, Cleanskin, Guardians of the Galaxy and many more in the realm of TV and film will visit the CosDay².

He will be appearing for a meet & greet with our visitors and in contrast to other conventions there will be no fee for that, instead we ask for a donation for a charitable purpose.

We can only offer this meet & greet because of our friends at the Project X-1 and the 501st German Garrison, they bear a great deal of the costs and without them we wouldn't be able to pull this off.

We thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
