Patton wasn't exactly sure how he got to where he is. Sure, there were plenty of people in the city, and lots of places to work and live. A lot of people moved out to the big city, and lived there for the opportunities. But, if Patton was honest, he mostly wanted to get out of the small town he'd grown up in. And yet, with his grandmother's passing putting him in charge of the family farm, he had to come crawling back to the place he was born.
Which leads him to the present moment, getting out of his car and looking up at the old farmhouse with a small grimace.
Remus had been cleaning up hay and takimg care of some animals that were on the farm and plants, he temporaily took over until Pam's grandson was moved in and also learnt the ropes again.
He was close to the old woman who passed, for years since he moved out of the big city he grew up in, away from the grand life he and his brother had. To living by himself and helping out Pam on the farm, which if he had stayed in contact with his brother would never believe Remus had a good bone in his body.
He eventually heard the rev of the car pull upfront and he huffed "see ya in a minute pam jr, i gotta meet this infamous patty boy pam talked bout for so long and taking over her place." Ruffling the little calf's head before heading towards the front, dirty overalls ripped and torn, his dark green button up just as messy, though sleeves pulled up showing both arms covered tattoo sleeves style and hair pulled back into a small manbun , ready to meet Pam's Granson.
He laughs. "Pam taught me, so I'd hope I'd remember something from that."
Remus only chuckles again as he nods " Well if you learned from pam i aint gonna complain ome bit so,shall we eat?"
He nods, pouring the juice before settling down. He eats, happy to have gotten to make something more filling than salad and fish for the first time in weeks.
Remus happily ate of course complimenting the other's cooking as he hums. "If ya want i can give ya abit to settle in before ya start farm handling? Plus id doubt you be able to pull yourself out of bed early enough after just moving." Remus teases lightly but he was being honest bout patton taking abit before he started trying to take the reins.
"So, why dont we get to know eachother?" The man muses tipping his glass to patton.
He flusters a bit at the other's praise, before shaking it off. "That would be wonderful, thank you." He smiles softly. Then he hums. "Well, I'm Patton, obviously. I've spent the last few years working at a business firm up north, and I graduated from Sanders University a couple years ago."
"Not a problem patty cake, its a big switch trust me considering i used to be a pure born city boy." Remus retorts lightly.
As he listened with a slight interested look "wouldnt have took you for the business type either, heh my brother wanted to go there but i have no idea if he ever go in."
"Not exactly the business type, but it pays the bills." He then blinks. "Your brother? Who? Maybe I knew him?"
Remus was hoping that patton didnt recognize the big family last name either.
"Roman prince, he's my twin brother but for some uh personal reasons i havent uh talked to him in awhile."
He minutely winces, and a rather fake smile slips up on his face. "Oh, I know Roman. He was one of my roommates, taught me how to survive in the city."
"Oh boy, well if you have any gripes or liking towards him it doesnt matter to me, ive left that left uh behind presay." Remus says briefly noticong the odd smile but unable to pinpoint the emotion behind it.
"I seperated myself from that life years ago, let alone had any contact with my family. But if any stories were told bout me which i doubt it id be fine confirming anything."
"I, uh... never heard about you, no. Roman was pretty tight-lipped about anything but theater and roommate squabbles. He and Logan were both very... particular..."
"Ah so typical roman, i dont know any logan but yea , take away thw tattoos, white in my hair and my lovely stache , id look exactly like 'knight in shining armour' though a surprise out of everything, you were his roomate and met his twin who ran to the country."
"I guess time will tell if that's good or bad luck..." He mumbles softly, before shaking his head. "Sorry about the food, it would be nicer if I had known-"
"Hey patton" man using his name?
"I dont wanna be treated high and mighty, i moved out here because i wanted out, i hated the city, the rules, all the cant do this, only do that."
"Im just Remus and ill always be Remus, now lets stop the serious talk its damping the mood huh?"
He blinks, before nodding a bit. "Yeah, sorry, Just got caught up in old habits. You're right though, it is putting quite a damper on the mood."
"No need to apologize patty cake, also between you and me the biscuits and gravy are better then any top quality resurant, like the homey feel to it."
Remus responded softly smiling taking a sip of his juice. "Plus paired with Pam's juice mix, which you replicated well even better, be prpud of yourself ,even over the small things."
He blushes a bit. "I don't usually cook for others, especially not stuff from the country. But, if you'd like, I can make it more often?"
"Well if you're offering saves another potentional kitchen fire" Remus jokes lightly
"Sounds good to me, and course as long as you want me around id be happy to help around even after you get the routine of farming down. You know as thanks for food plus always easier with an extra hand."

Patton eventually gets the room set up, and he goes to get more things unpacked. He doesn't mind the music, enjoying the bit of noise much more than he would care to admit. He finishes bringing in the rest of his stuff, unpacking various knicknacks and other items to make the place his own.
He silently wonders if Virgil's still here. It's been a while since they talked, after all. And Jan, too. God, it's been forever since he's talked to Janus. He shakes his head to clear it, and starts making some dinner for himself and his houseguest. Pam would've told him about allergies (she was good about that), and as much as he'd tried, Patt never could kick the habit of making food for others. No matter how much his roommates would complain, sometimes.
Remus finally came inside humming along letting his music play out as he raised a brow entering the place.
"Patty works quick huh? Also ooo food what are you making for yourself? If ya dont mind me asking, though could be better then what i can do since i have like 20/80 chance of burning it."
"Also any questions at all feel free to ask alrighty?"
"Myself? Oh, well, kinda. I know it's generally breakfast, but I was thinking about making some biscuits and gravy, if you'd like some? I-if not, that's all good too, though." For a second, he seemed more relaxed, and then he went right back to quiet and anxious.
"Um... I know it's not a question for you, but... is Virgil still around? And Jan?" He pauses, before blinking. "Virgil Moore and Janus Banks. Jan worked at market last time I heard from him." Ooo, the word market brought out a little bit of that accent. How cute.
"Oooh that sounds amazing, id love to have some." Remus agreed look he couldnt turn down a good meal at all, glad to see Patton ease up alittle bit as well.
"Also why yes i do Virgil is in town he moved in with a good friend of Mine, Emile Picani and Janus still works at the market he sells some good stuff and he has some pet snakes now, like two large ball pythons both a real nice color, much to hus dismay i call them banana noodles."
Remus muses with a snicker as really he was the only one who wasnt born here, even Emile was , but Emile was the shy keep to himself type when he was younger.
"O-oh? You would?" At that, he seems to perk up in shock and... there's some small bits of hope there. "Alright, it'll be done here in a bit."
He then smiles at the other's words. "Makes sense. Virgil never really liked being alone, and Jan's always loved snakes. Did you know that when we were kids, he'd run around the farm picking up the snakes in the grass? He'd make little pocket money dares with us, and he picked up all the snakes he could in one minute. He almost got hurt when he picked up a cottonmouth, but we thankfully had a shovel."
"Hell yea i would. Also got'cha do you want me to get plates out?" Remus offered with a hum.
Though he broke into laughter for a moment "that does sound accurate janus seems to really have no fear for snakes , also dont know to to much bout virge but heard he's a good roomate heh."
Remus liked seeing the other ease up as he moved to the sink to wash his hands from all the drit and such.
"Setting the table would be wonderful, thank you." He says with a smile. "Oh, do you have any allergies? I just wanna make sure."
Patton smiles. "Glad at least they're alright. I've... I've missed them. My friends from the city aren't as... friendly, I guess..." He sighs softly.
"Not a problem Patty, also nope no allergies here so dong worry bout me" Remus responded going to dry off his hands.
As he grabbed the plates and some silverware to start setting up the table.
"Yea City folk aint the best sometimes should know grew up there, also theres nothibg stopping you from reconnecting with Janus and Virgil."
He nods. "I guess not. I just, uh... doubt either would wanna see me, is all..."
"Well you never know until you go find out, plus i can be there too and Emile he's really good at the friend and commuincation stuff to."
As it didnt take long for Remus to finish setting up the table. As he aldo grabbed some glasses incase they wanted anything to drink.
Patton nods, moving the food to the table before making Pam's juice almost as a small reflex.
"You like the juice Pam makes?" Remus points out noting he also knows how to make it as well, with a little imtrigued hum.
"Oh, yeah. I love Pam's juice. I make it when I can. It's... something, ya'know?" He smiles fondly, looking like he's staring at something else fondly for a moment, before shaking it off again.
"It is something, i dont blame ya it's good as fuck." Remus agreed oddly in his own with a grin though raising a brow at the fond look.
Patton shrugs, putting the drink on the table. "Hope it's good. It's been awhile since I've cooked."
"Im sure its fine, look kitchen isnt on fire, nothing burnt and smeels good soooo id say that's a win." Remus muses softly as he started to help dish up the food.
"Besides it'll be better then the first time i try cooking on my own."
