Finished up holster for a .44 magnum with an 8" barrel. This project had a lot of firsts for me. First holster, first attempt at lacing, and first wet mold. When you spend so much time on a piece, you can’t help falling in love with it. It was little bittersweet watching it head out the door.

The bottom picture shows my holster next to the one that the guy brought in for me to copy the pattern of. I had to modify my pattern because the original holster was too short for the gun.

Thank you sir. Not sure if this question was directed at me, but I’ll answer it anyway. I’m considering it. If I’m going to get serious about it I’d need to buy some blue guns for wet molding and those are fairly pricey. So I guess I’ll just play it as I go. I really enjoyed making it.

Of course it was for you.

Learn to lace bullet loops.  It’s a higher quality than stitching them.  You have a real talent and your layouts are very professional.

Thank you! I just strive to do my best work and learn with each piece. Thanks for the tip. I will look into lacing bullet loops. Funny enough I hadn’t really considered holster work until someone approached me about having one made. Figured I’d give it my best shot. I loved lacing. It’s quite calming once you get the pattern down. I’ve already had more inquiries so I imagine I’ll be making some more holsters. Give the people what the want haha.
