Rusty scowled. “I can handle anything, girlie. When’s the last time you blew off a rattlesnake’s head with one shot? Never? Didn’t think so.” How dare she try to figure out his personality so quickly! If she was gonna try to pick the cowboy’s brains, that’s too bad! Rusty’s brains are unpickable!
Her eyes glistened with amusement. It was interesting to find out what “tough guys were afraid of, and since he seemed uneasy about witchcraft, she decided to have some fun with that, despite not really practicing anything other than halfhearted attempts at voodoo.
“Well, of course I haven’t blown off a rattlesnake’s head. Why would I do that when I need to milk the venom out of it? I need live rattlesnake venom for some of my potions, you know. And when I do kill them, I usually just whack their heads off with knives. Guns are impractical since I work indoors.” She was making all of this up, of course, but she hoped he wouldn’t be able to tell.
Rusty’s face contorted until it formed an expression of pure shock and terror. This girl seemed to know what she was talking about, and... Did she say potions?!
“I-I... uh... I just remembered... I have to go do that, uh, thing... Like, right now, immediately. Um, yeah.” No way was he staying here! Not with that wizard-witch lady! He’d rather bury himself in centipedes than become one of her next experiments, or whatever.

…Y'see, today’s my mother’s father’s grandson’s birthday, and he doesn’t got any presents, and I needed to get him something, y'know?
The girl was a bit confused of what he just said, was that REALLY the truth? It didn’t feel like it, but she let it slide. Not wanting to ask to look foolish or selfish in any way. She had already calmed down and didn’t want to make the cowboy mad.
*sigh*… Rusty, if you wanted to borrow something then you could’ve just knocked on the door. I would let you in.
Wait…really? So I didn’t have to pick the lock and pry the door open and ravage through the kitchen and set multiple things on fire? Well golly, that’s a relief, haha! Ahaha…haha…ha…..
yeah… Anyway. I have to clean up this mess- I can give you that recipe you wanted, or have you already found what you were looking for?
Yeah, sweetheart, got it right here! And every other valuable thing I could ravage from your kitchen, too!
Rule number one of the Wild West: Never trust a cowboy! Ha! *vamooses the hell outta there*
“Hey! Don’t interrupt me! …what number was I on? Oh, never mind.” Rusty was inwardly cursing himself on not getting a better education.
“Lookie here, li'l miss. You don’t scare me. In fact, I bet you’re just a screw-up underling for someone. You’re not a real criminal!”
“Ack!” He was spot-on with that one. She was an underling to both Morcubus and Esma. Most of her more serious criminal offenses were carried out on behalf of MorcuCorp, and she herself really wasn’t that threatening at all. “Ya lookin’ to get punched in the fuckin’ teeth?” she hissed. It was better to get angry and defensive instead of sad.
“Oh ho ho, so I’m right! You are working for someone else!” Despite the threatening glares from Brandi, Rusty smiled slyly. “Lemme tell ya something. True criminals work for themselves, or get a handful of pawns, like you, to use up doing their dirty work. Come talk to me again when you’ve decided to do something really illegal.”

Noticing the glass of oddly coloured placid liquid, Sienna grabbed at it, ignoring any sort of safety concerns and common courtesy. She shook the glass around, watching the rainbow of colours swirl around, before shrugging and taking a swig of it without hesitation.
She started to feel a bit light-headed after that, and she looked over to Rusty, who she had (repeatedly, to the point of annoyance) coerced to spend time with her. Sienna’s face tinted red vaguely, and she found herself scooting closer to him on the bench they were sitting on. She leaned her head on his shoulder, some of her words coming out in long slurs.
“Ruuuuuuuusty, Rusty, heeeeeeeeey. Have I ever told you that you’re really cute~? Because you are reaaaalllly cute~.”

“You mean… You don’t find me incredibly attractive?” Rusty asked Sienna afterwords, yet he couldn’t help but grin after his triumph over Mandy. Watching her walk away angrily was the highlight of his day.
He turned back to the girl. She seemed emotionless to the sudden events, even though he found himself extremely happy with his fortunate winning, and for Sienna to actually play along. “Heh, we sure showed her, didn’t we? And, uh, don’t worry ‘bout it, I suppose. Although it was kinda weird.”
“Not that I don’t find you… extremely attractive, per say…” she nudged his shoulder, blushing slightly. “Just, I’m never really that infatuated with anyone… I think…” Sienna shrugged at him. She slung her arm around Rusty’s shoulder, pecking him on the nose. “Eh, I’m glad ya’ beat Madeline at ‘er thing, though. I can’t really mess with ‘er, ‘cuz I live with ‘er y'know? But hey, if you’re cool with the weird shit I did, then whatever. At least I didn’t creep ya’ out or anythin’.”
“Well, you sure seemed pretty crazy ‘bout me for a second there.” Rusty smirked as she moved closer to him. All this attention was addicting–especially from a cute girl like Sienna.
“I could best that girl any time, no big deal! I mean, really, she’s not so tough.” The cowboy assumed that now was a better time than ever to boast. To be honest, Mandy seemed a bit off her rocker to him, but he couldn’t find any reason not to boost his image in front of Sienna.
“Heh, I bet you could, cutie~.” She simpered at him. It wasn’t really necessary for her to really inflate his ego and compliment him anymore, but it was fun, in a way. Besides, Rusty was sort of cute, and she didn’t want to appear suddenly all mean to him without a specific cause, especially with her being extra nice to him before. “Mmm-hmm, yeah you are tough,” she agreed, “but Mandy is really weak. And I’m weak, too. But you didn’t even manage to get me off your arm, and I don’t have a tight grip.” She laughed to herself for a moment. “So you probably aren’t that tough at all.” Sienna teased.
“W-Wha..? No, uh, y’see, I didn’t wanna hurt you, ‘s all...” Was he really that see-through? Sienna knew how to bump him down a few pegs, that’s for sure.
“Say, why do you hang around such losers like Mandy? Seems like you just keep getting hurt ‘round her.” Nothing like switching gears from an arrogant a-hole to a caring and sentimental guy to get the girl, right?

“It’s not sad! It’s just…lonely, I guess. I get bored easily.” Rusty couldn’t get past the fact that the moving meat slab in front of him was a genuine zombie. The way he smiled threw him off. Was he actually trying to become friends with him?
“I suppose… it might work…?”
“In my experience,” Carl said, wringing his hands together, “sadness and loneliness feel a lot alike.”
He was grateful that Rusty accepted his offer and felt the need to do something to celebrate their new friendship. “Um, what kind of food do you like? I could make something for you! That is the sort of thing friends do, right?”
“Darn tootin’ it’s sad,” Rusty said, dropping his gaze to his feet.
“Wait... food?” The cowboy yanked his head up in delight, and a true smile grew on his face for the first time in a long while. “I--uh--Yeah! I don’t suppose you know how to make coffee cake, do ya? A-And I could do something in return, like... I dunno...”
I leave for ONE day and now you're crazier than a wild horse on steroids
