Near the beginning of the Dunraven trail

I love this hike! The trail can be taken clear into RMNP but likely that would encompass a backpack and overnight camping equipment.

Lucas, Lisa and I have hiked parts of it several times as it follows the North Fork of the Big Thompson river in the early stages of the hike

If my health holds (I will be 72 years old), I am hoping that Lucas and I will attempt an overnight backpacking trip into RMNP in the early summer of 2026.

It will require overnight wilderness permits and a lot of prep and conditioning.
