even if em.ma cars.tairs has found herself deeply intertwined with the blackthorn family, she still wishes for a family that is hers. she wants to have what they have without feeling like she’s just an addition because of the war, or because she’s their brother’s parabatai. it’s the very reason why she feels a sort of protectiveness towards k.it, or why she stared for too long at the picture of corde.lia in the london institute, and it’s also why she misses je.m so terribly much.
