LIFE'S  PLENTY  SHORT.     Can't  waste  that  kind  of  limited  time  fretting  over  blood  already  spilled.     He  can't  say  he  understands  it  much     –   the  need  for  any  to  tend  to  him,  in  particular,  when  wounds  are  but  throwaway  reminders  that  he  does,  in  fact,  have  insides.

Still,  it's  FUN  in  its  own  right !  A  nurse  doing  it  is  one,  terrible  thing,  but  a  friend  -  however  may  he  deny  such  inevitable  truth?  Now  that's  a  bonding  activity  right  there,  one  he  just  has  to  allow,  right?  It  can't  be  helped.

"A  second  sounds  so  short,  dude,  I'm  pretty  sure  I  think  for  at  least  twenty."  He  decides  this  is  casual  conversation     –   water  cooler  talk  made  his  own  behind  shelter  of  wall  and  under  non-real-duress  of  enemy  threat.     A  beat  brings  silence  with  it,  only  so  he  may  count,  eyes  straying  upward.    "Or  a  minute.  Two?  I  mean  –   I  dunno,  I'm  usually  acting  and  thinking  at  the  same  time,  sooo  I  don't  really  have  the  luxury  to  count  how  long  I'm  thinking  for.  I  doubt  you're  out  here  counting,  either."     He  tilts  his  head,  shifts  in  place  with  no  regard  for  the  pain  shooting  up  his  ribcage.    "Right?"

VIGILANTE     is  quick  to  tilt  the  nondescript  blue  of  his  head,  squinting  beneath  his  visor  as  though  to  process  the  proclamation.  He  finds  it  unsatisfactory,  in  that  something  about  it  is  incomplete.     It  assumes  Rick  could  only  ever  be  useful  alive     -  which,  to  peacemaker's  favorite  human  companion,  just  may  not  be  the  case.  "I  mean  –   broaden  your  horizons,  honestly.  I  can  name  a  few  useful  things  you  could  do  with  your  death,  too."  Benevolent  as  he  is,  he  must  educate  the  poor  man.

"Like,  you  wouldn't  be  a  problem  for  us  at  all  if  you  just  –   "  He  brings  the  barrel  of  his  pistol  to  the  tip  of  his  own  mouth,  then  mimes  shooting  and  dying.  "I  think  you  should  consider  it.  I'll  even  help  you  out  if  you  need  it,  man.  I  gotchu."

@sunmad     :    "Incoming!" That's  all  the  warning  Adrian  gets  before  a  young  woman  collides  with  him  head  on,  her  arms  thrown  around  his  neck  in  a  hug.  She's  dangling  there  like  that  for  a  moment. "…Hi."

SHE'S  TAUGHT  HIM  THIS.     What  to  do  with  it,    when  arms  find  him  in  some  distant  cousin  to  strangulation.     It's  not  aggression.  Neither  is  it  a  ritual  of  sorts.  Just  a  hug.  A  hug  that  seems,  from  what  she  says,  to  do  something  for  her.  Something  nice.

It  takes  him  a  moment  to  note  the  contact,  to  ensure  it  is  truly  one  of  those,  before  his  arms  work  with  some  unison  to  embrace  her  in  turn.     A  circle-like  form,  he  recalls,  that  then  tightens  around  the  woman  just  enough.     Nothing  to  hurt,  he  remembers,  nothing  suffocating.  Just  some  pressure  to  keep  his  presence.    It  may  be  odd  to  some  how  unblinking  he  is,     in  or  outside  of  this,  but  with  the  smile  he  draws  he  is  certain  Miriam  understands  the  affection.    

“Hey!”    He  says  in  turn,  though  it's  clear  he  doesn't  plan  on  moving  until  she's  had  enough  of  the  comfort.  Or  the  welcome?  Something  between  those.  Or  maybe  some  secret  third  contender.  Doesn't  matter.  It  just  means  they're  friends.    “Long  time  no  see.”

HE  DRAWS  HIS    vision  below,  following  the  trail  of  crimson  through  the  end  of  his  shirt.    It's  a  keen  observation  on  the  other's  part.    It's  not  something  you'd  be  looking  for  -  someone  bleeding  in  their  civies.    It's  only  fair  Adrian  gives  him  a  little  confirmation.     "Yeah!  I  didn't  think  it  was  too  obvious,  but  I  guess  I  am."     Head  draws  up,  giving  John  something  between  a  smile  and  a  reassuring  nod.  Some  inflection  of     you  got  it  right     about  the  mannerism.  He  doesn't  see  the  point  in  stating  it  as  it  is,     but  there's  something  nice  about  knowing  his  injury  is  of  some  note.

"I  got  shot  sometime  this  morning.  No  biggie.  Other  guy's  dead,  anyway."  Adrian  decides  to  provide,     context  seeming  rather  complete  to  him,    there,  against  all  odds.    "Just  didn't  dress  it  too  well  'cause  I  was  on  the  run.  You  know  how  it  is!"
