You know, I really hate jokes about "how fast Demi Lovato dropped they/them pronouns" because like. A) they didn't. Demi has they/she listed on her social media pages. They still use they/them, and B) the reason they added she/her back and the reason you think Demi "dropped they/them" is because people are transphobic and exorsexist and never used their pronouns in the first place! It's literally because people were exorsexist to them.
Notice anything new? If you don't, I'll tell you: I've got a new wig! It keeps falling back into the same part, but at least it's not sticking up anymore! I've spent long enough with a beehive... It was definitely time for a change.
This weekend was, sadly, the final DollCon Dallas. The organizers are each individually having medical crises at home, and the hotel wants a lot more for a renewed contract. There seem to be a few interested in founding a new convention later on, but the challenge will be getting enough people with the right knowledge... We had fun though!
My Uncle Rex was there to help Aunt Fish with sales the second day, and is finally starting to have some positive experiences in the hobby again. With that fence finally being arrested, it was nice to see things at least partly going back to normal!
We'll miss DCD, and all the people who flew in to make it so enjoyable!
Greetings, netizens! It's certainly been a long time, hasn't it?
Today I'm here to bring you a box opening! To be honest, we were a little iffy on me performing my usual duties. (I'm not having the best hair day, as you're about to discover!) But why let an uncooperative wig stand in the way?
(Aunt Fish says please excuse the poor lighting, it's evening and her ceiling fan light is out, so we just have a table lamp...)
Here's the box itself... Almost a shame to cut through such a cute label! And it had extras...
Aunt Fish isn't sure what this is from, far less me, but they are nifty looking, aren't they?
On to the company box!
Let's see what's inside...
A preponderance of goodies here, too...
Hmm. Some assembly required, it would seem.
The ear option parts are magnetic, thankfully--Aunt Fish was worried about that--and there's an extra set here.
This fellow seems to be having a better hair day than I am--permanently!
Ah, but the eyes are separate. That's always a hassle.
This outfit is definitely more to Miss Kiriko's taste, but Aunt Fish is planning to return to her sewing machine soon anyway... And Miss Kiriko will get a free outfit out of it.
Eyes on... Now we're all dressed up with nowhere to go, as they say!
Say hello to the future Detective Shimura... Nice to have a fellow copper around, I have to say. I'm not complaining, of course, but the level of lawless energy around here has been a bit high lately!
today is the one-year anniversary of Brian Thompson's shooting, so this is a friendly reminder that Luigi Mangione is innocent until proven guilty and that, hot as he may be, he's still Just Some Guy who's life has been ruined over the last year in a high-publicized trial for a crime that he pleaded innocent to
The man who won't rest until the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is cleaned up has successfully tested his system for doing so.
““The Great Pacific Garbage Patch can now be cleaned,” announced Dutch entrepreneur Boyan Slat, the wonderkid inventor who’s spent a decade inventing systems for waterborne litter collection.
Recent tests on his Ocean Cleanup rig called System 002, invented to tackle the 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic pollution, were a success, leading Slat to predict that most of the oceanic garbage patches could be removed by 2040.
Intersections of ocean currents have created the massive floating islands of plastic trash—five slow-moving whirlpools that pull litter from thousands of miles away into a single radius.
The largest one sits between California and Hawaii, and 27-year-old Slat has been designing and testing his systems out there, launching from San Francisco since 2013.
GNN has reported on his original design for the floating device, but his engineering team improved upon it. System 002, nicknamed “Jenny,” successfully netted 9,000 kilograms, or around 20,000 pounds in its first trial.
It’s carbon-neutral, able to capture microplastics as small as 1 millimeter in diameter, and was designed to pose absolutely no threat to wildlife thanks to its wide capture area, slow motion, alerts, and camera monitors that allow operators to spy any overly-curious marine life…
Slat estimates ten Jennies could clean half the garbage patch in five years, and if 10 Jennies were deployed to the five major ocean gyres, then 90% of all floating plastic could be removed by 2040.” -via Good News Network, 10/19/21
Recent update from this org: they’ve launched System 03 (in 2023) and have gone on over 100 expeditions and collected over 1 million pounds of trash! They also are working on cleaning up rivers :)

not to sound like a christian facebook mom but some of yall need to have grace in your hearts for the people in your lives or the people you pass once on the road and never see again like you literally need to stop assuming the worst of everyone and their intentions it is poisoning your brain. you can be careful and responsible without being a miserable person. it is possible i promise
honestly i have been responding to some of these replies at face value bc i do also think you have a duty as a human being to be nice to people. but if you think this post is scolding you to be nicer to people then youve already lost the plot. this post is about how assuming that everyone you meet is hostile and wants to hurt you is bad for you. it ruins your life and it is a choice you are continually making.
