FIRST DATE | OWEN & SAVANNAH
OWEN: Quickly making his way to her door, Owen reached up to try and flatten his hair a little but, of course, that didn't do much of anything, so instead he stood tall and plastered a bright smile on his face; one that only grew wider as Savannah came into view.
She looked stunning. Everything was casual but she still managed to get his heart beating just that little bit faster.
"These are for you," Owen nodded excitedly, handing them over for her to take. "I thought I'd go old school with the flowers, you know, so we can fully establish from the get go that, yeah, we're totally going on a date."
With an amused chuckle, he leaned in and pressed a kiss to her cheek softly.
"You look awesome, by the way."
SAVANNAH: The brunette all but squealed with excitement when she took the bouquet from his grasp. She couldnāt remember the last time she received flowers from a guy, let alone a guy as cute and charming as he was. āThank you,ā she spoke softly, showing how much the gesture really did mean to her.
Her cheeks brightened at the feeling of his lips pressed against her bare skin, the contact just enough of a tease to get her excited for what else could possibly wait for them that evening. Holding hands? A goodnight kiss? Maybe even something more? The anticipation was brewing, and she forced herself to calm down and respond in kind.
āThank you, /again/,ā she laughed, her free hand reaching up to brush her hair behind her ear. āYou look good, too, but thatās no surprise since you always do.ā Okay, not as smooth as she intended, but who could blame her? Sheād seen many women oogling him, and it was difficult to have a filter when she practically dumb-founded by his good looks.
Glancing down at the flowers once more, she raised them to her nose and inhaled, enjoying the fresh scent. āIām just going to put these in some water before we go,ā she insisted, gesturing for him to follow her inside. She walked to the kitchen and set the bouquet down on the counter, grabbing a vase from one of the cabinets and filling it with water. āWhere are we going, anyway? I donāt think you mentioned it.ā As she spoke, her hands unwrapped the flowers and she worked at trimming the stems before arranging them beautifully in the vase.
FIRST DATE | OWEN & SAVANNAH
OWEN: By some weird twist of luck and fate, Savannah and Owen had began to move seamlessly from friends to more-than-friends without actually stating anything out loud. It was kind of like the two of them just knew that there was something between them and although they'd been friends for a while, now felt like the right time to maybe move things along.
After changing his shirt about thirty times, Owen had finally settled on a plain black one and had gotten his hair to sit just right. He was ready, he was feeling confident but most of all he was feeling really, really excited.
Flowers in hand - old school - he made his way over to Savannah's place. They had the whole day booked and he wanted to start off by taking her on a walk through the park, just to kick it off nice and casual, no pressure.
Clearing his throat, he buzzed and waited for her to let him on up.
SAVANNAH: She couldnāt believe how lucky she was. She had a crush on Owen for a while now, but never would have made a move. He was a great friend, but she couldnāt tell if he would ever want to be more than that, and truth be told, she was a little afraid of being rejected. So, when Owen made the first move, she couldnāt have been more thrilled.
She enlisted Allie in helping her pick an outfit for their date, but without knowing what they were doing, she played it safe and picked something casual. Jeans, a cute sweater, a matching jacket, and boots. Perfect for a winter date on the City.
Hearing the buzz of her front door, Savannah quickly ran over and let him in. She couldnāt stop thinking what a gentleman he was, actually coming to pick her up at the door for their first date. When she heard the knock, Savannah waited a moment and then opened the door, knowing that she couldnāt come off as too excited. Instantly, eyes landed on the bouquet and she grinned widely. āAre those for me?ā

ALLIE: Here's hoping it doesn't come to that.
ALLIE: Of course, you can always count on me for that and everything else. ;)
SAVANNAH: Fingers crossed!
SAVANNAH: You're the best, honestly.
TEXT ā ALLIE
ALLIE: Good point. I'll ask her and see what she thinks.
ALLIE: Of course it is, it's the only logical explanation!
SAVANNAH: And if she is offended, I'm sorry in advance.
SAVANNAH: Thank you for helping me avoid self-induced panic.
TEXT ā ALLIE
ALLIE: You think she'd wanna be my assistant? I mean... She's cut out for so much more and I don't want to offend her by suggesting this.
ALLIE: I don't know if he's a jerk or just excited. Ask him!
SAVANNAH: I agree, but she might do it just because she needs the work. And she needs to keep busy.
SAVANNAH: Okay, youāre right. Iām sure itās the excited thing.
TEXT ā ALLIE
ALLIE: Now that, I love that idea. Know anyone in need of work?
ALLIE: Well, how are you supposed to know what to wear??
SAVANNAH: Well... Brooke, actually.
SAVANNAH: I donāt know! What type of jerk doesnāt tell me where heās taking me?
TEXT ā ALLIE
ALLIE: We just might. Or I'll have to make sure I do my work while they're in daycare.
ALLIE: I don't want to bore you with the details of married life and motherhood, though. What are you and Owen going to do? Dinner, movies?
SAVANNAH: Sounds like you could use a personal assistant, too.
SAVANNAH: Oh thatās okay! Not boring at all. But, actually, Iām not sure. We never discussed that.
TEXT ā ALLIE
ALLIE: My mom jumps in here and there, but honestly that can do more harm than good sometimes.
ALLIE: It's a date, then. Make sure Brooke's around, too, and we'll have ourselves a girl's night.
SAVANNAH: I get that. Maybe you should consider a nanny?
SAVANNAH: I sure will!
TEXT ā ALLIE
ALLIE: Well, I'm ten years older, and while I'm wiser, I still have twins and a moody teenager, a husband, and a successful business to run. I guess I'm just a little overwhelmed.
ALLIE: Plenty of time to come up with the perfect outfit. I could meet you at your place one of these days with a few choice items, maybe I can help out both with the wardrobe crisis /and/ the date outfit.
SAVANNAH: What about hiring some extra help?
SAVANNAH: I would love that!
TEXT ā ALLIE
ALLIE: I didn't use to feel that way until now. Katie spoiled me.
ALLIE: He's so handsome, good choice.
ALLIE: Don't mention it. When's the date?
SAVANNAH: What changed?
SAVANNAH: Itās this Saturday!
TEXT ā ALLIE
ALLIE: You know my business is always fun, though. Get to check up on my models, see how the LA branch is doing, it's actually pretty fun. Besides, it's a few days off from being a mom to twins and an increasingly moody teenager, and I feel terrible about it, but I'm kinda relieved.
ALLIE: The hockey player?? O-M-G!
ALLIE: I've got you covered, girlfriend.
SAVANNAH: Donāt feel terrible. Every mom needs some breathing space now and then.
SAVANNAH: Mhm, that one!
SAVANNAH: Thank you so much!
TEXT ā ALLIE
ALLIE: Just a business trip. Yes, get it, girl! Who's the date with?
ALLIE: You know I've got you covered. I'd be more than happy to dress your gorgeous self up.
SAVANNAH: Ah, that's no fun. Well, actually, it's with Owen? Donovan, that is.
SAVANNAH: Thank you! I've been staring at my closet for three days straight and still can't put together a cute-but-somewhat-slutty outfit that isn't /too/ over the top.
