[He teased, he was going to remember she owed him gems.]

[Pausing, the baby dragon bit on the corner of his lip with a fang.]

Maybe we can put it in one of the trees in town!

That wasn't a bad idea, now that he said it. taking her hat off and holding the brim between her teeth, she lowered her head towards Spike. She motioned for him to put the nest on her head. It wasn't that she didn't trust Spike, but he had worked hard and she wanted to carry for him.

I’m GOING slow, AJ!

[He huffed with a bit of smoke coming out of his nostrils, he was doing just fine! Slowly, he was getting a lot closer to the ground and making sure his tail didn’t move an inch to have those eggs get rustled. After a lot of slow going, the baby dragon finally reached the floor and carefully moved his tail so he could take the nest into his hands.]

There, ya’ see Applejack? I told you I could do it!

A low sigh escaped the pony. The nest and Spike were all right, and she was more than grateful to him for helping her out.

"Gee, Spike, Ah didn't mean ta doubt ya, but ya pulled it off! Thanks a lot! Next time Ah get ma hoof on some gems, they're goin' straight ta you!" Looking at the nest, she frowned, "Now what do you reckon we do with this?"

"Uh... No... I ain't... Not that I know a' anyways..." (Sorry for the late reply)

Applejack leaned in a bit, turning her head to the side. She stared at the other; orange coat, fair mane, freckles, determined eyes. She gasped.

"Wait a second... Yer me!" She pointed towards the hat on the other's head, "I'd know that hat anywhere. It's mine!"

Oh I hope so! By the way, are there a lot of couples and families here? My parents like to hang out with other couples sometimes and I have younger siblings that get bored if they have no one to play with.

Couples and families? Applejack rubbed her chin in though, running several other ponies through her head.

"Well... Ah got mah granny, mah older brother and an little sister. Rarity's got her little sister..." The mare stuck her tongue out in concentration, "Pinkie Pie ain't got any sibilings, but she works with the Cakes. They're married and got a couple 'a foals."

She was sure there were others; Ponyville wasn't small, and it was a very family friendly place.

[Spike bit on his tongue, having it hang out of his mouth a bit as he kept his concentration climbing up to the branch. Once finally closer to the branch, he put an arm over it and sat right on the branch. Now carefully making his way over to bird’s nest, he reached out towards it, still biting on his tongue.]

Got it!

[He chimed as he carefully grabbed the next, carrying it for a bit before scooting his way back to the base of the branch that met the trunk. With this, he used his tail to hold it, he WAS going to put it on his head at first, but that wasn’t the best idea. Slowly, he started to make his way back down just as he made his way up, pacing slower this time because of the nest.]

Applejack paced around the base of the tree, keeping an eye on Spike. She was worried about the eggs inside and nest and the one holding them; if their of them fell, she'd feel horribly guilty. Standing still under him, she was ready to catch either of they slipped.

"Careful now... Go slowly, I can't have ya fallin'!"

You really think so? It sure would be nice to live near someone as cool as you.

"Gosh, ya'll are too nice. I'm sure there are plenty of other ponies 'round here you'll find cool. Everypony I've ever met here is really nice."

Possibly, we're not quite sure yet. The ponies here are nice and the town is so cute but mama wants the BEST.

"Can't get any better than Ponyville! Once yer ma comes along and sees it fer herself, she'll be beggin' ta live here." She cocked a grin and nodded, entirely sure of her own words.

If only she knew she was helping out a changling.
