On my first day we went downhill biking and although I had done it a few times before in Australia, I hadn't done it to this extreme. It was such a fun experience and a huge adrenaline rush. In the evening, we shared some beers and I met all of his friends who were all super cool and down to earth. I have a few more days in Vietnam and tomorrow I am going bungee jumping! I'm so excited, as its bigger than any I have every done before!

Simply wonderful

Anyway, we kept in touch on Facebook and a few months ago, he invited me to Vietnam to stay with him and his friends for a week. It was a really great offer and it was one that I had to take up! I flew out to Vietnam last week to meet him and here I am currently writing this blog in his living room. It has been such a surreal experience so far. Vietnam is truly beautiful and I have enjoyed my time here immensely so far whilst we have also done some real crazy stuff.

Overseas Adrenaline

About a year ago, I met a really cool guy in Sydney who was from Vietnam and instantly we hit it off and forged a good friendship, even though we hung out for just a few days but he was really awesome and enjoyed all of the crazy activities that I did. He was really into his downhill mountain biking and said that Vietnam is a great place to do it. He also mentioned skydiving and bungee jumping which sounded unbelievable.

This is why I love this

Anyway, I'm talking about my job as I have just arrived home from work stress-free, with a smile on my face and excited for the next working day. My job consists of many bonuses for me with obviously the main ones being that I get to spend the day on the beach in the sunny weather surfing. 

Another huge bonus of the job is that I get to meet and befriend so many new people, both Australians and also tourists and of all ages too. When they join the school, they are all so excited to learn how to surf and hit a wave like a pro and being able to help them achieve their goals and dream really is so rewarding for me as a person and as a coach. I love my job!

This is what I need

I always dreamed of being a surf instructor but then again, who doesn't dream of that? After years of applying, two years ago I was accepted to work for the biggest surf school in the area. It was the most excited I think I have ever been when I got the news and I knew from that day on I didn’t have to worry about working some rubbish job that I hated.

I seriously. Don’t. Not gonna let go of this chance!

Best job in the world

Most people I know really do hate their job and who can blame them, who the hell would like to be cramped up in an office all day or out in this blaring heat doing labor work? I knew from the beginning that a job like that wasn't for me, despite it paying good money.

I’m crazy but I don’t care

Mission Beach is the most incredible place with the most incredible views and from up on the plane the view is just breathtaking. My friends and family think that I am crazy and can't understand why I don't get scared and worried, but I guess it is just the way I am and for me, it is the best feeling in the world. In-fact as I'm writing this post, I'm just about to leave my place to travel for another three dives and my whole body is buzzing with excitement at the prospect, so wish me luck and I will let you guys know how I got on!

Addictive

Ever since that moment I was hooked and I'm always frantically trying to save money to once again jump out of a plane at 14,000 feet. Now that I have a good job, that pays good money, it has enabled me to be able to join the Mission Beach Skydiving Club which means that I get to do three dives per month. I'm always looking forward to them dives and I hope that next year I will gain my qualifications so that I can jump solo. The only time I ever went alone, was in a weekend to Helsinki. I always wanted to see that city! It isn’t a common city, but I think it’s really beautiful, so I went to a nice hotel in Helsinki and the hotel restaurant was really great!

Skydiving

Living on the East Coast of Australia brings with it so many opportunities to seek an adrenaline rush. I live roughly a thirty minutes drive away from the famous Mission Beach at which many skydiving schools are based. I first went skydiving when I was 18 as a birthday gift and I just couldn't get over how truly amazing the whole experience was.

My other loves

Other than surfing I love to skateboard, love to do some freerunning, longboarding, whilst I also regularly seek more adrenaline and go bungee jumping and skydiving. Ah the pleasure of living in Australia! 

In the evenings I'm normally with my friends either drinking, partying, playing the PlayStation and also listening and discovering some cool new music. I have one brother and one sister who I still live with along with my parents of course. During this blog, I will be doing my utmost best to update it on a regular basis to give you guys and insight into how I lead and live my life. I hope that I won't bore you too much, so enjoy!

Surf’s up

Being from Australia and living close to the beach, it is only natural that I am a surfer! I absolutely love surfing and have been doing it since I was a very young kid with my father. A couple of years ago, I finally landed my dream job of being a surf instructor which also means I get to spend most of my days where I feel I belong, at the beach!
