The coughing caught him off guard and made him jump. “See? We haven’t even taken two steps outside and the cold is getting to you!” he said, ignorant of the condition from which Okita suffered. He removed the haori that had just been given to him and wrapped it back around the swordsman. “I wont take no for an answer.” he chided, taking off his scarf as well and holding it out to him. “Put this on. It’ll keep your throat and lungs warm.” Oh Kashuu. If only he knew.

“I’ll be fine...A small cold isnt going to affect me much.” He smirked but continued to wear the haori that was returned to him.

Once they reached the shop, Souji ordered them a full order of dango, Six rows for each of them. “Is this a good amount for you Kashuu?” He asked while waiting for the dango to be prepared.

He also ordered some octopus balls since he would be in trouble for just eating sugary sweets.

Honestly! What was he going to do with that man? If only Kashuu could get him to place his concerns somewhere else. “You know I wont catch cold.” he scolded the swordsman, hurry to follow. “I’m more concerned about you. Would you like my scarf, Okita-san?”

“I’ll be just fine.” He told him before taking off his haori and placed it on Kashuu’s shoulders. “When we get home we will take a nice hot bath and get to sleep. That way we don’t-” He stopped for a moment and covered his mouth as some strong coughs escaped his throat.

A sigh came from the captain as he rested a hand on top of Kashuu’s head. “It’s fine. I have a little more money. Lets go get some more before Hijikata gets back and scolds me for being out past curfew.” There was no use in yelling. The deed was already done.

He felt so ashamed. Okita-san was really too good to him, especially when he could possibly get in trouble for it. “Really, its ok!” He protested, shaking his head. “I can get you some more myself. That way you wont be in trouble with Hijikata-sama or have to waste money.”

“That man can scold me all he wants. It doesn’t effect me.” He said waving his hand showing how he didn’t care. “Come on. Before it get too late.”

Oki looked to his brother as he gathered up his sheets to wash them. Hopefully he wouldn’t wake him up. He didn’t want anyone knowing about the accident he just had.

He continued on but forgot to look behind himself. He lost his footing on the porch. Falling backwards he created a loud noise.
