On occasion, he would question reality and the possibility that he may just be dreaming or simply ‘off the rocker’ like his grandfather used to say back in his time. Jimmy couldn’t possibly deny that he was the luckiest man to have lived. How could he be so blessed to know a woman such as Wanda? He didn’t do anything special nor crazy, just a simple day at the beach that lead the young man to offering her some clothes to avoid anyone from gawking at her body. From that day forth, they’ve grown closer and formed a friendship that was special. As some may have guessed, the two eventually became closer and found themselves falling for one another quite hard.
Even though she could easily defend herself and more, Jimmy still didn’t want to take any chances, fearing that one day she would face something or someone that could prove to be so much more than a challenge. He would rather die trying to keep her safe than stand around watching. Their future wasn’t set in stone, but Jimmy wanted more than anything to hold her close and never let go. To possibly go someplace peaceful, marry her and have a family. Such luxuries weren’t bestowed upon them due to their complex lives.
He was a little surprised to know she wasn’t repulsed by the scars on his body, but they both had their fair share of battle wounds and things alike. Some were obvious and other were quite hard to find. Nonetheless, he would always see her as the most beautiful person in existence from her heart to everything in between.
“Good…I’ll remind you either way..” And that was the truth. Jimmy would always tell her just how much she meant to him and everything in that nature. She was his world and his everything, no matter how annoyed she was with him every time he would express his undying love for her. Every little kiss and display of affection left his heart melting within the confines of his chest, this was just like those other times. As if a tidal wave of emotions smacking him square in the face, the youth couldn’t help but pull his head back away from hers in order to catch a glimpse of her eyes with his own. Never in a million years would he ever have thought she would spill those words out and now his features had reddened quicker than he thought possible, “What..? Are you just sayin’ that or…? Because I was waiting for the right time to ask you…”
As unreal as the moment was, it wasn’t at all surprising that the subject of marriage had been on their minds. It was only natural to consider such a step after being together for so long. The thought of being married to the man she loved, becoming Wanda Maximoff-Robertson, it was something she wanted more than anything. She wanted to call Jimmy her husband and to hear him call her his wife. She kept her hands on his shoulders as he looked back at her, a smile creeping across her face. “I’ve never been so certain about anything in my life.” she reassured him,”I didn’t mean to take that opportunity away from you but....goodness how long are you going to take to ask me?” a small chuckle fell from her lips as she raised a hand to lovingly brush his cheek, cupping that side of his face,”It’s just that....well we don’t know how long we have, decades, a few years, a day. I just want to make the most of it, because the one thing I know to be true is that I love you, Jimmy.”
