I missed this unstable bitch

Cien, the unstable son of Syazel, who is about wants to be whole again, but papa is currently touring hell right now. Wait, wouldn't that make Cien and Roka siblings basically?

This is a very good question, honestly!!!

With my interpretation of Cien, he has a lot of confusion when it comes to his identity, but also his relationship with Szayelapporo and Roka. I headcanon that Roka manifested Cien from her idealized image of Szayelaporro, but Cien developed his own personality.

He views Szayelaporro as an obstacle in his way, seeing him reminds Cien that he is a shadow, or an illusory being. So he wants to wipe out any trace of Szayelaporro. He is the only person that Cien has actual malicious intent for.

With Roka it's... complicated. He views her as a friend, and wants to keep her no matter what. But his obsessive tendencies and fickle attitude makes him incredibly difficult to predict.

I think a key component of Cien’s character is his desire to become his own person, and to distance himself as much from Szayelaporro and Yylfordt as he can. He is under the delusion that he cannot be whole— a person— as long as Szayelaporro exists.

Going as far as to erase all those left who remember them. So as long as he is able to maintain the illusion, he is happy and content, but the second he sees Szayelaporro returned from hell, the illusory world he has built around himself is shattered.

And he is sent into a deep obsessive state, where his only goal is to find and kill Szayelaporro. Even if he must brave hell itself.
