"Maybe if you pleaded. But I expect genuine pleading. No half-assing it, mister."
"Perhaps," shrugging nonchalantly, pressuring his left palm upon his temple with a light exhale. "But I'm sure you would just share it with me if I really wanted it."

"Maybe if you pleaded. But I expect genuine pleading. No half-assing it, mister."
"Perhaps," shrugging nonchalantly, pressuring his left palm upon his temple with a light exhale. "But I'm sure you would just share it with me if I really wanted it."
"If that’s your way of calling me greedy, I’ll accept it. I never said anything about sharing any of it, anyway."
"Even if I asked? Pleaded."
"Oh good. We should stop for snacks beforehand."
"I don't think I could stomach the amount of snacks that you would prepare to bring."
"Set off the fire alarms, watch them scramble." A moment of thought, and another idea struck. "Or a stroll through the forest, maybe."
"Unfortunately, I really don't want to have you be sentenced to any trouble." Slender arms ascended and crossed with brows subtly rising. "Stroll through the forest it is."
"As it should be." Riva tilted her head. "I only arrived two weeks ago."
"Fairly new then." Lips curved into a semblance of a smile briefly before a scoff escapes his throat. "Edward York."
"There are plenty of levels. Everyone just has a habit of lumping it all together most of the time." A shrug accompanied her words automatically, a smile gracing her lips following. "Don’t get too into the idea, I just figured if I left you alone for awhile, I’ll have all the more reason to bother you more later as a reward."
"You certainly have a wondrous perspective on the topic, Nerissa." Lips curved upward in response and a forced exhale with it . "Oh, I definitely wasn't. I think that I could grant a reward like that. Did you have anything that you wanted to do in mind anyway?"
"Well I never said it was good fun. It never is without you. Anyway, I figured you might enjoy the quiet more without me around bugging you for a bit. Most everyone could use a vacation here and there, right?”
"'Good'? I had no idea there was a certain level of quality that the word 'fun' possessed. You were thinking about giving me a vacation from you entirely? How.. thoughtful. I don't think that it was all that necessary though, but still brilliant."
"It’s boring. I’ve had to make my own fun lately."
"You've decided to leave me out on it then?"
"You could say such a thing."
"Mm," irises of hazel illuminate briefly before brows subtly descend. "Your accent is still moderately thick."
"The lack of activity circulating throughout the campus is truly astonishing -- might I even say enjoyable?"
"Something!" A jolt of unplaced anger came out Lloyd and he sprung up, clutching his superior’s arm. "The masked ones are not the ‘something’, it’s that…thing!" Lloyd frantically explained, before falling down onto the ground. He coughed again, but it was more harsh.
"'That thing', right." Edward muttered with blatant disbelief. Slender fingers almost instantaneously attach to the other's hand clutching his arm and slowly does the senior clutch his own hand to detach. "Shall I go investigate then?"
Looking on as he examined the novel with some interest, eyes of a deeper blue lit up at the promise. There was little doubt he’d keep his word, though what troubled her next was the mention of her part in all this. A frown would obviously follow. Despite their being ASP together, Nerissa was a lot less focused when it came to assignments. Of course most of this was less out of a willingness to ignore and more to do with her always finding better things to keep her attention. Like chatting up the librarian for instance. “You’d carry me anyway.” As much as he may have liked to think otherwise, the girl knew he wouldn’t deny her that much.
After a brief moment of consideration, the actress spoke again. “Add in baby cupcakes and I’ll concede.”
"Do you really wish to take that chance?" Edward inquired with eyebrows inching together in utmost subtlety. He'll extend his hand to brush slender fingers against the tips of flaxen tresses. "We'll complete every assignment together, alright? I won't have you failing another assignment." He'd never admit that at times he'd collected a plethora of worries when concerning his school work. He'd thought that her idleness would ultimately elicit her failure and assigned the task of making certain she passed each and every time since freshmen year.
Another trademark exhale escapes his lips. "I suppose I can abide by that agreement."
”.. You don’t know that.” She was messing with strands of his hair now with her newly freed hand. Characteristically, the blonde would have put up more of a fight, perhaps even actually put in the effort necessary to scowl at him face to face. As it stood however, Nerissa seemed to lose some of her edge at the mention of returning to a water-filled room. The absolute horror of such a move even in jest was enough to keep her from pursuing the argument. Plopping down in the seat in front of him without another word uttered, a hand rested against her cheek defiantly, her gaze eventually leveling with his own after passing seconds.
"Are you really going to read to me later?"
"I do." Edward grins amiably enough, like emotional indifference had never been attributed. He'd actually feel terrible later on about teasing her with her phobia of water but that was honestly for another time. An slender finger traipses down the spine of her delivered novel and darkened irises scan the ulterior once more before elevating to meet her own. And he bends to retrieve the book fully and irregularly motions it side to side in an effort to capture her attention. "I swear it." He states with lips still curved into a smile. Fingers clenched around the spine release and the novel falls into his lap. "But you'll have to do this assignment with me and receive an phenomenal grade."
"I'll even carry you around for a week as well."
"You can." A more determined, matter-of-fact tone escaped as the girl went to work with the ruined bubblegum, deciding now that the assignment she barely remembered was a lot less important than getting her literary fix. "I’ll stick gum in your hair." The threat was likely empty, considering how much she actually enjoyed the darker locks and a shaved head would be just as awful for her as it would him she guessed, but there was no absolute guarantee. The book hung by a single hand now, but given her distraction, it could have just as easily slipped.
"It isn't that simple." Cinnamon irises search oceanic hues and are able to capture a glint of something akin to determination and it's enough to force amusement to spread across his habitually ambivalent visage. "You won't," it's not strict, nor does it seem all too serious and the accompanied smile only emphasized the playful attitude he's briefly adopted. "You'll posses a dorm full of frighteningly alluring water if you were to." A slender arm ascends and fingers capture the novel before she accidentally drops it into his stomach.
