"Mm," irises of hazel illuminate briefly before brows subtly descend. "Your accent is still moderately thick."
"As it should be." Riva tilted her head. "I only arrived two weeks ago."

"Mm," irises of hazel illuminate briefly before brows subtly descend. "Your accent is still moderately thick."
"As it should be." Riva tilted her head. "I only arrived two weeks ago."
"The lack of activity circulating throughout the campus is truly astonishing â might I even say enjoyable?"
"You could say such a thing."
Like fireworks and such? I mean, I guess youâre right. Thereâs not really much you could do at a school.
Something like that, yes.
"Um, yeah, Beâs good. And pleasureâs mine. Um, do you have any resolutions?"
"Good. Resolutions?" Riva tsked, folding her arms. "I hadn't thought of such a thing. I usually don't have any, now that I think about it." She tilted her head. "What about you?"
"Well, youâre alive, so thatâs a good sign, I guess. Iâm Beatrice, but you can call me anything else."
"True. Do you mind Be, then? Pleasure to meet you, by the way."
Iâd say so. Yours?
It could have used a bit more pizzazz, but I'm at school instead of home. So I shouldn't have expected much.
"It was my best New Yearâs Eve in a long time. And how was yours?"
"Dull, but it could be worse. My name is Riva, by the way."
"To you, too."
"Was your New Years' Eve alright?"
Happy New Year.
"I'll assume your New Years' Eve was pleasant?"
"Happy New Year."
lindo *-*
Dark eyebrows lowered on her face. âThank you,â she said softly, her mouth construing sideways just a bit. That was the second time sheâd heard that about her name. Was it really that different? âOh no; youâre doing just fine, Riva. I wouldnât have suspected a thing.â Giving Riva a warm smile, she nodded at her last inquiry. âThis will be my second year, which in theory isnât that long, but for me, itâs the longest Iâve stayed in one place.â
"How are liking the school so far?"
Riva noticed the slight change in mood. Had she said something wrong? Oh, well. She'd have to note that later. "Good. Hopefully others feel the same way." Riva grinned. "How interesting. Are you a wanderer of sorts? I think the term is...a nomad? Ah, I've only just arrived last night. I still haven't seen the principal about my schedule, unfortunately. I do have high hopes for this place, though."
Rivaâs accent hadnât really resonated with Estellise until she heard the girl speak out an entire sentiment. Her words flowed in an effortless elegance as if the very letters that constructed them danced in sequence. âItâs nice to meet you, Riva. Iâm Estellise; and, you have a very beautiful accent, just thought Iâd let you know.â Estellise shook her head at her own words. Theyâd come out a lot slower than she thought they would. Her fingers wrapped around Rivaâs and she shook her hand firmly. âSorry about my grip. Businessman for a father kind of wires you differently.â
"Pleasure to meet you, Estellise. What a unique name...thank you for your compliment." Her shake was firm. "How interesting. I spent most of my time inside, so forgive me if I'm not very good at this...social thing." Riva felt a bit embarrassed at herself, but she brushed it off. She could be worse, yes? "Have you been at this school for a while?"
Estellise turned her head briefly to get a glimpse of the female before returning her attention to the colorless stretch of rooftop. âMhm; for some reason, Christmas is just not a very festive holiday for Imperium,â she told her. A sigh escaped from her lips and within that very same second, sheâd spun completely on her heels and gave Riva an estranged facial expression. âHello there.â
"How odd. It may not resonate with everyone the same way, I guess." Riva gave a small smile to Estellise's expression. "Hello, mademoiselle." Riva thought she should at least introduce herself. Might as well make some acquaintances while she was here. "My name is Riva." She held out her hand to shake.Â
"How utterly depressing," Estellise uttered against the silence. Her usual smile took a bit of time to surface on her face as her body shifted in its place. "They took the Christmas lights down."
"...Already?" Riva raised an eyebrow. Even her family wouldn't have taken down anything holiday related yet. Then again, that was her family, and didn't reflect the ideals of everyone else. Riva tilted her head. "That's strange." She wondered aloud.
privé! /
"Je manque maison."
Riva flexed her fingers, watching the pot of ink on her desk start to clatter from the force. She slowly watched as the ink left the pot and trailed through the air. Riva wondered what she would have to do next and picked up her planner, scanning through the items on her list. She'd gotten there, check, unpacked her bags, check, next would be getting her schedule from the principal.Â
She frowned. She already had to be social? Especially with the principal, who was probably already angry that she was late? She glanced up at the ink still swirling in the air, imagining the principal's reply to her tardiness. What kind of ASP student was she to be late?
Wait, why exactly did she care?
Riva's eyes narrowed and the ink shot back towards the pot, which stumbled as it hit a couple of her books. At least she'd arrived, right? Her principal's attitude shouldn't matter, as long as she did well in her classes and kept working at her power. All that mattered was her success.Â
"...Bonnes maniĂšres ne blesseront pas."
A smile, or even asking for a pardon.Â
That would help, right?
