born as the second child and first & only daughter of the earl and countess of schleswig, cecilia was doted since childhood. inheriting the looks from her mother, a noblewoman from goundor, she was said to be an exact copy of the woman. following her around, hidden on her skirts, cecilia learned the duties of a lady very soon, watching her mother scheming and gossiping in the iilyrian court.
the countess died when cecilia turned ten. it was a shook for every member of the debutov family, as no one was expecting such event to occur so soon. but it affected cecilia the most --- the boys were most close to their father, as the earl was the responsible for their education, and the countess for cecilia’s one. she found solace on her brothers; they weren’t close until agrippina’s death, the event uniting the trio.
cecilia’s life went as normal as it could after that. talks of marriage were brought from time to time, but she never paid much attention to them. she was now the woman of the county, taking the place left by her mother in the court. there, she learned everything she knows now --- how to be graceful enough to have a voice in a sea of men.
her betrothal to the duke of baden was another event that left her on shook. cecilia wasn’t expecting that --- her father was dead by now, and her brother didn’t announce such thing for her. the feeling of betrayal was a bittersweet one on her mouth. she didn’t know why she felt that way --- it was her duty, after all.
marriage life was way better than she thought. she can’t say for sure that she loves her husband, but a warm feeling is growing up inside her heart. the court was welcoming to her as duchess of baden, and while she tried to stay away from politics, cecilia couldn’t help herself. she tries to make her opinion heard when she can, but cecilia is aware that sometimes this isn’t enough.

an opinionated woman, cecilia grew up in a place of culture interconnection, adding the best traits of both in her personality. she always tries to make her voice heard, with her bold opinions and remarks, boasting an innocent smile doing so. growing up in the court, cecilia knows that she shouldn’t trust easily and to always watch her words --- and because of that, cecilia can be seen as a futile woman by the ones that doesn’t know her. despite that, she is charming and warm, always trying to make other feels like they’re at home.
cecilia doesn’t mind scheming with others --- as the queen’s sister in law, she is aware of her privileged place on the court and uses that as a way to benefit her and her husband, not caring about other people’s feelings and stepping on whoever is needed to achieve her ambitious. her melancholy started when her mother died and got worse when her husband needed to go to battles.

also, an ex lover would be super cool !! maybe they were involved in the years before cecilia was married, and when she was notified about her betrothal, she ended things with them and now they’re seeing each other after some years.
enemies !! cecilia is a woman of the court, and loves to gossip. maybe she could have done something that affected them, or vice versa, and now they hate each other ? or just general dislikes.
idk if she has children, as this is to plot, but i would love to see cecilia scheming future marriage to her kids !!
