“Crabs in a Barrel” t-shirt Concept behind the design: We’ve always heard the phrase “Crabs In a Barrel” growing up. To me it meant that our mentality was skewed when it came to helping each other, instead of lifting each other up, we pulled each other down. Oh no, you can’t get ahead of me. I wanted to flip that perspective, I commissioned my friend & Artist Theosxs to design the crabs in the barrel. Jay-Z has always been a huge inspiration to me and the evolution and content of his music has evolved as well. Hov took to the stage at Webster Hall in 2019 and performed a freestyle, these words resonated with me: “So now we fighting over scraps crabs in a barrel but crabs don’t belong in a barrel & they ain’t never tell us that, so in the barrel we gone act like we act, we can easily get out the barrel if we stand on each other’s back. Whoever gets on top, as long as they stay attached, they can pull everybody out, I was doing just that” & this part of his freestyle inspired me to share the collective message through my brand.
