Hallo, I am Crow. This was gonna be an art blog, but it changed to a political one pretty quickly. This is not a NSFW blog in the sexual sense, but I do sometimes reblog stuff like that (and honestly your work probably wouldn't like you to see a lot of the posts I reblog just for capitalism reasons).

I reblog a lot of posts about a lot of often triggering subjects, and I am terrible at trigger tagging and often forget to do it at all, so please be careful if you're looking at my blog and look after yourself. If there's any specific thing or post you want trigger tagged, you can tell me (if I have asks on) or maybe you can comment if I don't.

This is a bit of a mess, but I hope you get something out of it, comrades.

This was Crow's tumblr blog. Crow (e/em/is/isself, or e/em/eir/eirself) was part of our plural system, and e passed in the early hours of yesterday morning. Crow is survived by myself. I don't know what to do with it. It is a strange kind of grief.

We could redecorate the blog with my name and aesthetics.

We could leave it as e left it, and perhaps create a fresh blog for myself.

We could keep it mostly as it is, but continue it's use as our main blog.

I desperately hope that only the few people who cared about the person behind this blog read this message, but I am aware that we may no longer be safe here.

If you ever wonder why I don’t post my thoughts about transmasculine writing much I got hate for saying “trans manhood isn’t cis manhood. While both are men society treats their manhood differently. One is seen fake, degrading, and perverse and the other is something that is seen as real, rewarding, and correct. You cannot define trans manhood with cis manhood. Because trans manhood is treated totally different than cis manhood by society” and people will get mad. Like basic transmasculine stuff that transmasculine activists have been saying since the 90s.

One thing I find annoying is that people will find one incorrect or problematic thing in a writing related to trans theory and say that we should just ignore and throw the whole thing out because of that one thing.

Impossible for theory to grow at all and one cannot build on and improve from the works of others. Has to be 100% perfect the first time. Duhh.

Like the amount of times I have to go “this book isn’t perfect I know but the points X author made on X topic are important. I think Y author in this other book did a good job in their book criticizing how X author talks about Y topic. But right now I’m focusing on X topic.” Or “this isn’t perfect and has some issues but it’s still an important read because it’s the starting point for published conversations about X trans topic. If you want to fully understand the topic it’s important to read this” Over and over again just so people will sit and listen a bit.

Sorry someone sent me a rant about whipping girl . Like yeah it’s not the most perfect book ever and the issues in the book have been talked to death by people who are smarter than me. But it’s still an important book that people should read? It’s a good starting point to understand transmisogyny, but to fully understand it and all the complexities and how it intersects with other forms of oppression you need to read it along with other books. One book can’t cover everything and be perfect. You are going to have to use your brain a bit and read multiple books.

If you're at work in a retail or hospitality environment and you see a sex worker with a client... no you didn't.

If your boss asks you if you think that person's a sex worker, you tell them you do not believe that. You don't report their presence to anyone. You don't joke about it with a coworker. You don't eavesdrop or bother them.

Some examples of situations where you might need to keep your mouth shut about a potential sex worker:

You see someone you don't recognize walk past reception at your hotel to head directly for the stairs or elevator or towards the rooms without acknowledging you at the reception desk. Yes, this includes when the person is wearing revealing clothing or a nice dress and heels. This is not your business.

You notice multiple men going to the same hotel room during the same evening, each only staying for an hour or so at a time. This is not your business.

You seat two customers for dinner and work as their waiter/waitress for the night. You see one give an envelope of cash to the other. Yes, this includes when there's a huge age gap between the two and they're being affectionate. This is not your business.

You overhear one customer ask another how much they charge for a night, whilst making drinks for them. You heard nothing. This is not your business.

I do not care what kind of retail or hospitality setting you work in. If you see a sex worker, no you didn't!

Just noticed that there hasn’t been much, if any, coverage on the mangione trial in like a month. Like since he plead not guilty, there hasn’t been any major coverage on the proceedings. I just tried to look up anything about the past month and I genuinely cannot find anything. Nothing about it they’re still in jury selection, nothing about any rulings, nothing about the defending attorney or even opinion pieces. Like I know why there’s not much coverage, but nothing at all? Like we got CONSTANT updates about the depp/heard case when it was happening, but now that it’s something about an important issue that would have been the case of the decade in times past, it’s radio silence.

It’s so incredibly disturbing that they’ve filtered it out of the media and that people don’t care enough to demand it be covered. People treated it like a trend and aesthetified it to the point that an actual act of resistance means nothing now.

Also there’s like no concrete evidence in this case. It’s all circumstantial. I feel that everyone forgot that, and because of it, the idea that “innocent until proven guilty” as a precedent is very much in the process of being undermined
