“Nah, I’d basically asking for the guy to die.” Wes quickly put his gun away and instead closed his eyes. After a couple of seconds passed by, Wes held out a hand and curled it up as if he were grabbing something. Suddenly, a nearby tree began to levitate. To Cooro it would appear as if the boy were using telekinesis, but nearly any hunter would be able to tell what was really happening.
Wes lunged his hand forward and the tree was launched with powerful force towards the second beast.
Cooro was paralyzed with fear as the tree next to the one he occupied began to rise. He noticed movement in the corner of his eye and gaped as the hemlock continued to break free from the earth. It’s sudden and violent movement caused the winged boy to cry out in alarm and he watched the tree strike down one of the monsters. Cooro looked everywhere for Wes and spotted him with eyes closed fairly close by. “WES!!” He dove down to join the boy’s side and looked around fearfully. Where was the other thing? How about the one that got hit? Was it down or only dazed? Cooro didn’t like how small and afraid he felt. So what if those things were gross-looking and large? Just like anything else they wouldn’t do too well without eyesight. The boy picked up a stone the size of his hand and took the air again.
Cooro screamed at the sight of the large human-faced monster thing coming at him. It was HUGE. The boy flew into a tree and became disoriented temporarily, falling and hitting two large limbs in quick succession before righting himself and taking flight once more. He was no match for that thing.
Cooro wasn't prepared at all for the second one.

Quick! Before it’s late!– Happy Birthday to the Fish-Prince!
(And he gets a flower crown from the group; because as much as they’d like to get him baubles, flowers are so much more convenient.)

“I don’t trust him. He seems off.”
Happy birthday Cooro!!! ☼ August 3rd
“Right now.” With that statement being said, the boy took out his staff and twirled it around. With little effort, he swung underneath the crow anima’s legs.
Cooro landed on his back side and blinked up in surprise. “Wow you’re so good at this!”
“If you are serious, then I won’t have any problems teaching you. Though, you must be dedicated, attentive, and ready to learn! If you do so much as complain about what I am doing and the workouts I have, I won’t hesitate to stop. Is that understood?”
“Yes! When do we begin?” Husky sounded like a real sensei! Cooro stood tough and ready.
“Huh? This is sudden…” The boy turned to the other and gave him a rather odd stare. “You aren’t joking are you? Last time you asked that, you ended up ditching me for that food parade…”
Husky was still upset about it. Secretly.
‘Huh?” Cooro had no recollection of a food parade whatsoever, but it sounded wonderful. Husky’s glare brought him back in focus. “I’m not joking..you’re a skilled fighter! I only know how to run away.” He shrugged and smiled.
Cuties.

Cooro always had a one tracked mind, so Husky was used to him switching gears rather quickly. “That depends. If you actually take it seriously this time you have a fair chance. But I think we have a decent shot.”
Cooro thought about how skilled Husky was, and how he had trained with the King’s twin sister. He wondered about his own abilities. Cooro had no real desire to fight..he simply wanted money for food.
“Ok. I will..” He promised and envisioned himself using his small ax..but he couldn’t.. the one who had made it for him was opposed to needless bloodshed and it would be dishonorable to use his gift in such a way. “Can you teach me more about fighting?”

“That doesn’t mean anything! Sure I know that stuff, but it’s whether or not I actually feel like doing it. You just ate so I won’t do it for awhile.”
“Fine.” Cooro huffed and crossed his arms. Ten seconds later he forgot his frustration and tugged at Husky with a bright grin. “Do you think we’ll win any tournaments?”
