“Yes, one of these rooms are yours. The door will practically have your name on it,” Andel chuckled, his smile wide and pleasant to hide the way he noted Owain’s reaction. For Owain to be surprised over something Andel thought rather simple, and it made the demon wonder what the other masters Owain had were like. If having his own room caused this sort of reaction, Andel was excited for the prospect of spoiling Owain until he was completely speechless. This would be fun!
“Go on,” Andel chimed and shooed Owain down the hall with a wave of his painted black, manicured nails.
When they found Owain’s door, it was unlike any Andel had seen before. It was beautifully crafted, intricate, and clearly old in a way Andel had yet to witness in his home. Of course, this made him even more curious, but he waited patiently for Owain to be the one to open it. It was his room after all.
The inside of the room was just as gorgeous as the door leading to it, and Andel blinked in surprise as a library stretched before them. He wasn’t sure what he’d been expecting, but it wasn’t this.
“Wow…” he hummed, and his perfectly shaped eyebrows arched to match the shock in his voice. They returned to their normal position as Owain turned to him, and his question earned a giggle from Andel. He leaned against the doorframe and nodded.
“Yes, yes - this is all yours, Owain. It’s certainly not mine, you saw my room. It looks nothing like this. To be honest, none of the rooms in here even remotely resemble this,” and it filled Andel with many, many questions. He held his tongue, there was plenty of time ahead of them for questions later. “No one else could have made this room possible. It’s all yours. Down to every last book.”
Every last book?! This felt like a dream. So many centuries of thankless, greedy masters… and now this? With a small, excited grin, the fae turned back towards the books, moving further into the room. His fingers lovingly caressed each spine as he moved through the stacks, eyes noting that not all of the titles were ones he recognized… but those he did know happened to be personal favorites. There were also tables for research, and chairs and couches for lounging! The only thing that would’ve made the room better is if it looked out over a garden, the way his real library had. But alas, this room had no windows, although the light was plentiful in a way that had to be magic.
Turning back to Andel, Owain shook his head. “I don’t understand why you would gift a stranger with such marvelous magic?” Which wasn’t to say he felt unworthy of it. This room was meant to be his, the fae could feel that down into the marrow of his bones. But why give him something so generous when he’d done nothing to earn it? Then his hand moved to rest against the collared knotwork tattoo which encircled his neck. Nothing yet, his logic reminded him. “And not just a stranger… but your slave?”
Owain eyed Andel, contemplating what the other might want of him in return. The man was so unlike any of his previous masters. There was a gleefulness to him that seemed so… innocent and genuine. It threw the fae’s attempts to read the other into turmoil. Surely someone with powers like what he’d seen so far had no need for his magical skills. So... sex, perhaps? Owain didn’t find himself opposed to the idea. His new master was certainly quite pleasing to the eye. Coupling would likely be enjoyable… something that could hardly be said about his last master. But surely Andel could have anyone he chose. He didn’t need a slave for such things. So if not sex or magic, then what? He wanted to demand answers, but held his tongue. It would do no good to upset his new master so soon. Patience. That was something he’d gotten very good at over the years. Most answers would come with time. Or so he hoped.
