#Aloy gets so frustrated initially because Beta is so rattled and so pessimistic and afraid#and it's understandable because in Aloy's life she has needed physical and mental fortitude#in a way that manifests very differently#but Beta is SO strong#to survive this treatment and have grown up the way she did#and with nothing but Aloy's EXISTENCE to go on#to have the courage to lie to these people she knows have such intense control over every facet of her life#who can punish her in brutal excruciating torturous ways if they find out#Beta KNOWS what the Zeniths are capable of in a way that no one else in the main squad does#and she STILL lies to them and takes a HUGE fucking risk#potentially even dying in the process#which she acknowledges is a distinct possibility and still goes through with it#expressly to defy these people and help someone she has never even truly met#how impossible must it have seemed to Beta#knowing so little about the situation#knowing only that there was a Sobeck clone with a bow and arrows who was fighting for the world that already existed on earth#and for Beta to throw herself headlong into that with total acceptance that she could not know all of the pieces#but that she KNEW she could not allow the Zeniths to win#how incredible#she is so strong and so clever and I LOVE HER#< prev tags#horizon#beta#i love her
