A heavy, relief sigh leaves the cowboy’s body as he lowers his gun. Echo still was there, he can feel it. Now to bring her back to him was going to be a challenge. Just how much did Talon mess around with her system?
He smiles back at her, slowly stepping closer to her, thinking there was no harm in that. “Howdy, Echo…” He tips his hat in pure respect, before freeing with her words.
A sudden ominous feeling of fear crawled on his back, immediately making the cowboy take a step back. “I’m… on the same team as ever… I haven’t changed at all, you did.” He goes, voice slightly shaking with how creepy she sounded. “You’re fighting for Talon, they’re the bad guys, and I know you’re not one of them.”
Echo smiled at the gesture with his hat, perhaps she might have even laughed if it was at a time of peace. Even as they spoke though, she made sure to keep scanning her surroundings every few seconds. To protect him and serve her purpose.
His step back though...was he planning on attacking? Every bit of data on the enemy from simulations suggested that he would. To attack first. Yet she held herself off.
When he spoke, she tilted her head in confusion then went to try and scan her database - to provide evidence that he was wrong. He must be wrong since she could not be, she was not programmed to be.
“Now Jesse you must be mistaken I-” When she reached a certain point, it was as if the records just stopped. Her memories went blank and instead her systems began to overheat. “Ah!” Her eyes changed colour as her limbs jerked from excess energy.
“DATABASE CORRUPTED. ACCESS DENIED.” The artificial tone interrupted her rather worried tone before her persona returned again. Echo seemingly having no memory of what she just said.
“I-I-I-” The more she tried to look, the more it started to hurt. “Jesse!”
What was happening to her? She had no idea the hijackers of her code had planted this little bit of self-destructive code there. To stop her remembering.
