I remember the first time Mal saw Tobin at camp during the COVID pandemic, she was so emotional. And I don't even know when it was the last time she actually saw Christen. But I can't help to notice how she literally grew up following their example, walking on a path they created. Mal always said Tobin was inspirational to her as a player and on the field she actually played a lot like Christen, it's extraordinary to just witness the impact some players have on the next generation both on and off the field. It's still a little heartbreaking to accept Tobin & Christen were guests and not teammates there but I can't deny how touching and special it is to see how important they are for this team even without playing with them anymore.
