people will be like oh the pnw is so queer friendly oh it’s so nice and welcoming and understanding but um. get back to me when it’s not trying to lock me out of queer community for ‘looking too masculine’ like before i was on t I wore this exact same outfit to this exact same event BUT you could see my chest (large) and im still not like. passing?? But it was really. bad. I felt really excluded and it was supposed to be a safe space (recently moved here after several visits) even if you came alone and it’s like. I don’t know. It felt really pointed and I couldn’t shake how much it felt like it was because of my gender and presentation. Personally I was really hyped about my tape job and how flat I looked in my super basic shirt and how (it was hot) I didn’t even NEED a flannel and then it was very much a shock to me that what I considered a gay ass outfit is now seen as being too masculine. Frankly I don’t even trust this group to actually respect my pronouns if I wore something that ‘looked gay’ bc I’ve worn literally just a normal outfit with PLATFORM BOOTS and gotten misgendered by queer people. idk I’m too queer for the straights and not queer enough for the pride events even though I’m literally gay and trans. but I don’t dress in the Acceptable Transmasc Fashion so fuck me i guess

Just want to put this out there for anyone it might help, and also to share my experiences: I’m a genderqueer trans man !! I just identified as a trans man for so long because it fit, and I am, but I started to realize that it just didn’t fully describe my experience with my gender. I’m not multigender (multigender people are valid ❤️❤️) I’m just a trans guy who feels my experience as a man is genderqueer. It confused me for so long but now I’ve found an identity that well and truly fits :D

being a camp counselor (closeted transmasc) and getting asked by kids “are you a boy or a girl” and just responding with like “guess”, “well what do you think?”, etc. this happened on my first day and where two of the younger kids were debating my gender and I just said “rock paper scissors!” And they actually did it😭

Gym dysphoria 3 (?) anon here again! Another thing: I have a condition (genital difference) that's considered intersex in penises but not what I've got which is insane to me. Such an odd division.

Re: gym discussion/building muscle.

I wouldn't call myself an athlete but I DO love working out. Dysphoria both related to ability to build muscle and otherwise has been kicking my ass. I hate wearing exercise clothes (too revealing) and hate how many weight machines force me to look at/acknowledge my breasts.

I love working out- but I haven't been able to actually attend a gym because of this in almost half a year. I do free weights in my basement with the lights off but that's still not enough. I'm so jealous of people who can work out without this agony. I wish I could do more cardio too. My house is small and I'm too poor and don't have space for a treadmill. I hate it so much.

(side thing: like many trans men I've been terrified of pregnancy forever. Caesarian sections especially. They gotta cut through your abs for those!!!! I use those things to lift!!!)

im transmasc but i still dress very fem and have long hair so i get called she a lot. BUTTTT ive been dating this super sweet cis gay guy and hes so sweet to me and always makes sure everyone knows im a guy!!! It also feels so nice knowing hes gay because it really shows he sees me as a guy :D

I’m not on T (still debating whether it’s right for me) but I took a weight lifting class with a group of all cis boys and the speed at which they were able to build muscle both visible and not was frankly extremely unfair

being a transmasc alter in a system can be a confusing experience because our other alters are not all transmasc as well. some are transneutral, some are trans with no further label or with different labels, and some do not call themselves trans at all. and we have different gender expressions, different feelings about gender, different things that give us gender euphoria and dysphoria, etc.
