absolutely! so i headcanon rich with aspergers and adhd - aspergers is on the autism spectrum but it is on the more highfunctioning end. those with aspergers, like myself, usually have a lack of social awareness, so they may not fully understand social cues and behavior and have trouble understanding and connecting with other people. this could’ve been one of the reasons why he got the squip - he felt like an outcast because of his aspergers and felt as if he couldn’t connect with anyone because he was so weird (keep in mind i mean this as rich thinking he’s weird. aspergers is not ‘weird’ or any other stereotype people use for the autism spectrum). so he gets a squip to help him “act correctly” as he says in the squip song. aspergers also makes it harder for you to make and sustain friendships, which could tie in to his popularity thing. when i was younger i was dying to connect with my classmates but i never seemed to know how and always got left behind. lot of lunchtimes spent in the bathrooms, guys. tbh i’m still not that great at it now, but i think i’m getting better. so yeah that’s just some of the reasons i think rich has aspergers.
people with aspergers may also avoid eye contact or have intense eye contact, or have a lack of expression or use exaggerated expressions. rich seemed quite intense during the squip song, both in eye contact and expression, so that might be it as well. not to mention some sufferers of aspergers fail to respect boundaries - usually i try to keep away from people but i do tend to lean on people and get in my friends faces a bit. i’m trying to stop it. in the squip song, rich is VERRRRY touchy with jeremy. i know a lot of people (myself included) take this to mean rich liked jeremy but couldn’t express it due to the squip, but i also think it could be aspergers. also, some people with aspergers may have abnormalities in speech - i used to pronounce my ‘th’ sounds like ‘f’s for the longest time (i tried asking my mum if we could watch thor one time - she thought i was saying ‘four’). yknow who else has a lisp?
