I ussed to be like “Well, if Michael and Fisk can’t be together, I guess Fisk and Kathy would be cute. And then Michael and Mistress Kara.” BUT THEN FISK AND KATHY HAPPENED AND NOOOO
Fisk and Michael!

Updated date list
Caught an extra month in my reread of Scholar’s Plot. Freaked out a bit about how it completely wrecked my theory about which months went where before I realized the story took place during a different season than I’d been imagining. My old post on dates is looking a little messy after my last attempt at tweeking it without totally erasing my old speculations about how the months were ordered, so here’s a new post.
Holyon is in the middle of winter, and is followed by Junipera. Crocussa starts of spring, but things are still a little slushy until you get into Grassan, which is the rainy season. Next comes Roseon, which is when things really start to warm up, and summer kicks off with Berryon. After that is Cornon and then Wheaten, before things transition into fall with Appleon. Appleon is followed by Oaken, when things are starting to cool off but it’s not totally impractical for camping yet, and then there’s a two month gap before Holyon comes again.
So, basically
Holyon - Junipera - Crocussa - Grassan - Roseon - Berryon - Cornon - Wheaten - Appleon - Oaken - fall month - winter month
but fisk, what about the CHILDREN!
michael sevenson at some point probably
some law enforcement au's for you to consider
fisk is a jaded crime column journalist. michael’s a rookie homicide detective who thinks he can clean up the city and save the world. fisk’s boss makes him do a shadow piece just when the first case michael ever takes lead on turns out to be something big
fisk is a city prosecutor with doubts about the biggest case of his career. michael is a lawyer for the innocence project trying to prove that fisk put away the wrong man.
michael is a private detective who keeps finding murder scenes before the cops can, thanks to his network of homeless child spies. fisk arrests him a suspect for the latest one out of spite, only to find that michael’s the key to solving it
michael runs a homeless shelter with a habit of overlooking it when minors come in without parents. fisk is a cop trying to find a missing kid who suffered a dissociative fugue event.
fisk is a world weary homicide cop. michael’s the eccentric medical examiner.
fisk is a cop turned fbi agent. michael’s a young genius working as a profiler.
Yesterday, I received an Amazon delivery which I had forgotten about. Within it was ‘The Last Knight’ the first of the ‘Knight and Rogue’ novels by Hilari bell.
I started it last night.
I also finished it last night.
God, have mercy on my soul, for Sir Michael has stolen my heart and his squire, Fisk, has sold it.

“On my Radar—Work: I just finished my semi-final proof of Scholar’s Plot. One more run over, to make sure the spaces around the ellipses are right (yes, it’s that detailed) and we’re good to go! And I’m thrilled with it. Work—PS: Oops! To all of you asking when Scholar’s Plot would be available, I forgot one of the steps when I made my estimate! We need not only need another day or so to finish up, and the few days it will take to percolate through to Amazon and other online bookstores—I have to order a print proof from Ingram’s, which will take at least a week. So it may be around Thanksgiving, after all. But I’m pushing as fast can, honest.”
Hilari Bell on the release date of Scholar's Plot, from facebook
“Master Benton Sevenson? Good. And these gentlemen would be Master Fisk and Master Michael Sevenson?” It could sound threatening when a guardsman said things like that, but this man’s eyes lit with enthusiasm when they fell on Michael. Once again, I congratulated myself on having made sure that, even though I’d sent for them, Michael was the one who’d dealt with the Liege Guard when they arrived in Tallowsport. The dog, never fussy, pranced over to the stranger for a pat, and the man demolished his dignity even more by obliging. “We are.” The resignation in Michael’s voice wouldn’t have been audible to someone who didn’t know him well. I did know him well, and I wasn’t sure I’d had enough time to convince him to keep what we’d learned to ourselves. I picked up a biscuit, split it, and began spreading butter, trying to think how I could shut him up if he started to confess, without looking too suspicious. Nothing occurred to me. “Captain Chaldon sent me,” the guardsman went on, “to ask Master Benton Sevenson if he, and the rest of you, have an alibi for last night.” The biscuit crumbled in my fingers, leaving butter behind. “Last night? Has something else happened at the university?” For once, we hadn’t even been there.

I Love Your Blog. Like A Lot
do you think sometimes when michael would want to wear a short sleeved shirt fisk would also wear leather bands around his wrists to make michael feel comfortable
"what do you mean wrist cuffs haven’t made it to Agriport yet? they’re all the rage where we’re from"
not to brag or nothing but my idealistic character/cynical character crime-fighting duo pairing adopted six orphans in their latest book, what has your noncanon pairing done for you lately?
I brag about those two all the time.
They're worth bragging about.

little knight & rogue things: that awkward moment when you get arrested and accidentally end up in the cell next to your ex boyfriend
A man in the blue and silver of the Liege Guard stood on the threshold, and the silver bars on his shoulder announced a sergeant. A man in my profession makes a point of knowing guard uniforms, and their ranks, too. “Master Benton Sevenson? Good. And these gentlemen would be Master Fisk and Master Michael Sevenson?” It could sound threatening when a guardsman said things like that, but this man’s eyes lit with enthusiasm when they fell on Michael.
