I know the whole "past present and future" team sss has is accepted by everyone in unison by now, but I disagree with Shadow’s being the past and Silver being the future just because Shadow was created a long time ago and Silver literally lives in the future's. They give the opposite to me, actually
Silver, despite being from the future, doesn't really have much of an attachment to it outside the vague "making the world a better place" deal he has going on. Everything that matters to him is in the past. All of his friends are in the past. Any time he gets to do anything important, it's done by going back to the past. And the moment the future is at peace and nothing needs to be fixed anymore, he still stays in the past, even if he's technically not needed there anymore. Silver is constantly living in the past, and I mean in a literal way. Silver to me is the representation of the past, always thriving to get back to a place before he existed.
Shadow, on the other hand, thrives to escape the past. The past are his chains, but he prevails for the slim chance of maybe things being better tomorrow. His goal is to stop being defined by his past, to get to be his own person now and get to be a new Shadow tomorrow. Shadow is the representation of the future to me

anon... i understand that you are probably extremely 14 years old or otherwise don't have experience with conversations like this, but "queer undertones" does not a queer game make.
like, i do agree that there are queer undertones in this franchise, but you have to understand that those undertones exist in spite of the billion dollar corporation that owns it. those undertones, when they exist, are there because of queer writers like Evan Stanley and Gigi Dutreix. the you absolutely cannot (and SHOULD NOT) attribute any latent queerness from this brand to the corporation.
listen. i, too, love Sonic the Hedgehog. i think it's a really fun series that has a lot of interesting characters and a setting that has some really compelling implications. BUT!!! the things that make Sonic interesting will ALWAYS be watered down by the corporation that owns it in pursuit of Mass Market Appeal. this is true of basically every corporate franchise to ever exist, because the nature of capitalism requires all commercial art to be as mainstream as possible. this isn't a matter of opinion, it's just how the video game industry as a whole functions.
this also means corporations will only be accepting of queerness as long as queerness is considered socially acceptable — i guarantee you that as the world backslides further into right-wing reactionary ideology, SEGA will probably decide that what little queerness we have is too much, and they likely will start cracking down on anything they feel might hurt their brand image.
that's what the original ask was about. a lot of Sonic fans act like SEGA is a paragon of morality, but the simple, objective truth is that it's a multibillion dollar corporation, and as such, their only loyalty is to the almighty dollar.
always remember: corporations are not your friend!!! profit is the only thing they care about!!! they will happily throw the queer community to the wolves if it means saving a couple bucks!!!
He has the same cocky personality as sonic too it would have been AMAZING and would have made sense for the egg council to program him that way so that he actually has some sort of drive to go along WITH his sonic like personality
Hey guys I really really do not like twt. The way people discuss the fandom on there just gets under my skin. The only issue is that twt is the easiest way to get news, and I have no idea where else to find news as quickly. Is there anywhere else I could find out info? Twt is starting to be very ocd triggering and idk if I want this app anymore.
Funny enough, despite all my claims about how Metal is absolutely not an irredeemable monster with no feelings and that with given the bare minimum he can be good, I DON'T want him to get redeemed. Keep him a villain, but a villain on his OWN terms instead of Eggman's attack dog
not sure how hot of a take this is or if its already been said but sonic needs more rival diversity imo. like a good chunk of the rival-ish stuff is shadow and if its not it feels a bit forced. but idk that might just be me

literally EVERY TIME without fail, when i come across a new Sonadow AU, my immediate thought is, "is there a fic? where can i read it?" bc DAMN yall are good.
When I said "disses", I meant sharing your thoughts in a pretty negative, unsavory way. Not just sharing an opinion on the ship. Disses as in actually showing genuine hatred towards towards a ship, but mostly its fans.
It is not okay to spread that kinda hate. Saying that you dislike a ship for "a & b" is one thing. I dislike several ships. Saying you dislike all the shippers of a ship for "a & b" and generalizing people into one category is not okay and not respectful.
I absolutely 100% agree that people should not blindly follow the ships of big creators, though.
Also people shouldn't feel like they should hide their opinions, however a lot of "criticism" is super unnecessary. It is often not respectful.
I feel like some people don't understand that Jax is supposed to be unlikable and thats why y'all hate him so much
The way some of y'all talk about Appledash as a hardcore Appledash shipper makes me very sad
I KNOW the constant swearing in the hellaverse is unnecessary because I don't think I'm supposed to be able to tune this stuff out and forget they're swearing
