My theory on the animal hospital is that it’s basically Truman Show (or Bolt) x That’s not my neighbor: “an essay” because I feel like game theory rn.

You have been warned, I will be using screenshots for supporting evidence.
I have avoided spoilers and this is my raw reaction.
I will now explain my insanity.
Be warned I will use “…” to separate sections sometimes.
Intern is seen as questionably sentient by animal corporation and people who are in-the-know as actors or scientists. Why? Intern is an anomaly. Notably Intern is also only playable character that looks similar to an anomaly, but also:
“I must kindly remind you to pay the reception actors on time. I would hate for the intern to feel lonely… and resign.”
I have reason to believe that this note is written by John Authur Nomaly who is definitely also “The Boss,” or at least the guy “running the show,” here is why:
Ron From Accounting is unaware Intern is essentially a glorified test subject, thus making his dialogue when thinking you are “the new intern” make more sense upon saying “you ever wonder why they keep hiring new people?”
He doesn’t know.
He didn’t know Oinget was in the same situation either. He probably saw him as a friend.
Ron has a love-hate relationship with Ratthew; as made apparent by his dialogue when Ratthew is visiting for “the last time/encounter(aka before going into hiding bc of animal corp.)” and they talk to each other. Additionally Ron and Ratthew’s love-hate relationship is made more clear with Ron’s dialogue regarding Ratthew chewing up documents he wasn’t supposed to see and saying he did him a favor.

Intern is kept busy in the east wing of “The Hospital” aka “ward c,” where the non-intern players are considered actors—and work at “The Hospital” which is a front for their experiments with anomalies under Animal Corporation.
This is a parallel to The Truman Show because technically Intern can “quit” and leave whenever he wants, but also he has no reason to, no way to, and he would likely be unable to get a job looking like an anomaly.

Barney is an outsider to the corporation and might end up becoming “the next intern” since he can be kept passive with coffee(caffeine) like other anomalies….
The theory of caffeine lulling/calming anomalies is supported by: Harlow drinking tea (tea has caffeine), intern needing to keep their sanity up and encouraged to drink coffee by Harlow, and the head-banger anomalies leaving peacefully when given a coffee, and Barney seeking out caffeine.
Sanity is literal, loosing it either kills you, or if you are infected turns you into an anomaly/possessed animal.
There is more that connect a this theory together, but this is it for now, I will reblog with the additions later when I have more energy, and when I am not in danger of loosing my Duolingo streak.
i think this was for the better, for the victims and for Qwel. Honestly, as much as the information went against Qwel, they didn't deserve all the harassment, we don't know the full story. I'm not glazing Qwel or anything, I just want to say People shouldn't be harassing them, be respectful
