I really need to start drawing other characters man. Anyways, only thing that I really wanted to mention about this is how Blue made me research elegiac poetry and was reminded of how they said some dramatic shit before they died. That wasn't even a reference to any real poem they just did that. So consider dramatic and cryptic Blue who comes up with poetic lines on the spot. (The quote I gave them IS from an actual elegy though. I thought it was nice)

For me, I personally like to HC that for crewmates, while looks DO matter, personality and relatability are also heavily roped into that category for them which is why most of them swooned more when Blue said something relatable to them rather than JUST “oh hot doctor”, yeah they DO think Blue is hot but it’s also due to how Blue relates to their interests and such.

Silly situation: partner swap between the smart ones and the normal au. They exchange buddies so orange and blue are together and so is green and purple, both in separate versions of the group. Orange gets snatched from the canon timeline and placed with blue, and gets purple in return. Shenanigans ensue

Just a random thing on my perspective of blue, blime, and what I feel people miss when it comes to mischaracterizing them

Okay I’m actually going to go back and watch the swooning scenes to see which attribute specifically causes the characters to swoon, to test something

Purple: blues determination to make sure everyone is safe

Green: blue sharing about themselves and how they started out, and encouraging them

Black: blue agreeing that people devalue the work done by the other branches of sciences

Cyan: validating Cyans ideas about the crystals

Lime: being understanding about their misgivings of the medical community

Now why I did this is because none of these are related to their looks. So this further confirms to me that a big part of the objectification is accidental on the crews part. It’s not like they swooned immediately, if they were looking at blue in a shallow sense they would. It only happens after they do something they find attractive. And yet, the only times they are directly complimented or talked about where they can hear? The looks is all that comes up. THATS where the miscommunication comes from. Blue doesn’t realize that it’s their actions on top of their looks that endear the crew to them, because the only direct comments made are about their looks. Yet we can see here that no one actually is seeing them as shallowly as they might fear they do, and each are one over due to their personality

While it might appear that Limes “the only one who cares to see past it” that’s not entirely true and yeah if people portray Blime that way I can see why that’d be annoying. The reason why Blue might notice Limes behavior as unique though is because it’s the most direct someone has been with them about it, but that doesn’t mean it’s entirely unique.

It’s important to keep in mind that the character doesn’t know everything the writer does with these things cause they have layers. Blue knows they’re hot, and knows it plays into why they’re liked. We as Omnipresent beings know that Blues personality also has a factor. Blue is never complimented on/told this to their face, only ever getting these remarks about their looks. So it’s reasonable that mixed with the potential of having some past bad experiences, they wouldn’t be aware of how deeply they are truly valued. Not to mention, objectification is only part of the issue: the other part is blue being put on a pedestal and feeling in a way that if they fumble or are less than perfect, the others will lose faith in them.

Yeaahhh like, while their looks totally play into it, it’s by no means intentional for any of the crew. It just adds to the growing list of things that could’ve been prevented had they worked together more as a team. While relying on blue is smart in some circumstances, and easier then facing such difficulties yourself, no one should be put in the position where they’re placed on a pedestal of being the best most capable person there Yknow? The higher the pedestal, the harder it is to see those at the bottom

Purple and Blue would have had such a fun dynamic had they got more time to talk. While Limes interaction with Blue is ofc notable, so is Purples because the thing that swooned them about Blue is their dedication to keeping everyone safe- something that inherently isn’t tied to just their looks, which in of itself shows that while it might not be clear to blue themselves the way that the others feel about them isn’t strictly because of their looks even if that’s what gets commented on to their face. Purple being an excellent example of this.

Plus, had they lived longer (and couldn’t solve the murder in like three episodes due to sabotage), they’d of had a “doctor x security, both want to keep the crew safe and are failing” dynamic lol. They get to stress out over everyone’s safety at 2 am ✨together✨
