Fluffy family shit gets me
Bakugou furrowed his brow a bit as he pushed his daughter on a swing, eyeing the chain with a bit of skepticism. “Eh, I dunno, kiddo, you're already going pretty high.” The four year old little girl squealed loudly in delight as the swing came back down, propelled forward by Bakugou's strong push when he saw an open opportunity. “Please, Daddy! I want to fly upside down!” Scoffing softly, Bakugou couldn't help but crack a small smirk, finding her bravery matched his own at that age. “Oh yeah? I don't think so, squirt. Your mother would destroy me if I did that.”
“Daddy, it wouldn't matter, she's not looking! She's on the jungle gym with brother.” Giggling, the small girl gave him a sly look as she swung backwards. Shaking his head, Bakugou looked over towards his wife, who was climbing like a child on this large metal contraption with their son. Being a more timid kid, she was helping him along, encouraging him to climb and supporting his efforts. “No way. But, if you want to jump off, I'll catch you.”
“Yay! Let's do it!” She kicked her legs a bit in excitement, making Bakugou have to dodge to not get smacked in the head. “Hey, watch your legs!” He moved to stand a little ways in front of her, narrowing his eyes at her as she laughed maliciously. “You watch your head, Daddy! I'm the one in control here.” Bakugou chuckled, hands on his hips as he waited for her to prepare to jump. “You think so, huh? And who's the one that helped you swing that high?”
“My own legs! Duh!” She grinned, light blonde hair swirling around her face. “Ready, Daddy? You'd better catch me!” Bakugou nodded, watching closely for any sign that she would falter. “I'm ready.” Biting down on her bottom lip, she waited until she was at the highest point before launching herself from the swing, squealing as she fell into Bakugou's arms.
Laughing, she latched onto him tightly, her face bright pink from the excitement and physical effort of swinging. “That was so much fun! Let’s go tell Mommy what I did!” Bakugou shifted her a bit, lifting her up so she could sit on his shoulders.
He held onto her legs as she shoved her sticky little child hands into his hair, ruffling it in her excitement. Being a father to two, Bakugou had learned to not be grossed out by the simple things, like dirty fingers in his hair or a piece of candy being shoved into his palm, coated in spit. “I bet Mommy will just love that. How high do you think you went?”
His daughter kicked her feet a bit as Bakugou headed towards the jungle gym, humming in thought. “Hmmmm, I think a million feet into the air!” Bakugou couldn’t help but to give a short chuckle, though it sounded more like a snort. “Wow. I wish I could go that high.”
She giggled, laying her chin onto his head, face hidden in his hair. “You can, Daddy! I’ve seen it on TV, when you fly! I hope I can fly like that when I get my quirk. I want it to be just like yours!” Bakugou’s grin faltered a bit, looking down at the ground as he stepped up into the play area that held the jungle gym, which was on a padded surface to prevent injury.
He and his wife were a bit worried about his daughter, as she was almost five with no sign of her quirk yet. Her brother had already gotten his, and it was identical to Bakugou’s, so there was a bit of tension between Bakugou and his wife about what was happening. A doctors appointment was set in a week, and he could only hope for the best.
That’s why they had planned this little day out together. He and his wife had decided that they desperately needed a family day, with not a single mention of work or responsibilities outside of their children. “I know, baby. I bet that it will be. My quirk is cooler than your moms, right?” He said that just loud enough for his wife to hear, who looked down at him from her place atop the metal jungle gym.
“Excuse me? That’s not true, we all know that Mommy has the coolest quirk.” Bakugou lifted his daughter from his shoulders, placing her onto the climbing contraption so that she could make her way up. “Mommy, did you see me fly?! I went like, a trillion feet into the air!”
“That’s not possible.” Her soft spoken brother corrected her, currently climbing around upside down on the inside portion of the dome shaped jungle gym. “You maybe only went up fifteen feet in the air, you couldn’t go up a trillion. You’d be in space!” Bakugou raised an eyebrow at his wife, who only smiled at their sons interjection, before he addressed the kids. “You two don’t start that. We are not going to argue over that.”
His brow furrowed in worry as his daughter lost her grip, falling with a squeal onto the padded floor below. Instead of crying, like he saw another kid do just a moment ago, she hopped up and climbed right back up. She was such a little monster, so tough and hardheaded. The many bandages on her elbows and knees was proof of that.
“Careful, baby.” He spoke, giving her a hand up as she struggled to pull herself up onto a specific section. “I am, Daddy! Falling doesn’t hurt.” She gave a grunt as she pulled herself up another hard spot, before sitting next to her brother, who was currently getting an outfit adjustment from their mother.
She sighed, rolling up her son’s sleeves. “Why you wore long sleeves is beyond me. On top of that, this shirt is huge on you! The sleeves go past your hands.” The boy smiled, looking at his sister. “I couldn’t decide, so Sister picked it for me! I was happy to wear what she wanted.”
Bakugou chuckled, hands in his pockets. “You always let your sister pick your clothes-” He was cut off as he had to react quickly, his daughter launching herself off the top of the jungle gym and into his arms. “Hey, give me a warning, squirt!”
“Why? You’ll always be there to catch me, Daddy. Right?”
Bakugou shared a quick glance with his wife, trying to not visibly show how deeply those words affected him.
“Of course I will, baby girl. Always.”
