Welcome to the Petz Monster Factory!
Yo. I'm Cy (he/him) - you can find my main at @cirgaydian-rhythm
Current Events
I'm currently running a Spin-the-Wheel pairing randomization, detailed here. Wanna join? Here's how:
Spin the Catz Wheels and/or the Dogz Wheels
Report your results (comment on or reblog+tag the aforementioned linked post, OR send me an ask)
I'll make a post with the pulls of your results and their 10 LOVELY offspring; unless asked otherwise (or if it's via anon ask), I'll tag you in that post.
If for some reason you want any of the offspring, just let me know and I will do my best to put a .zip together with the parents' breedfiles and the .pet file of the requested creature (which will either be hosted on Google Drive or Dropbox, probably). Note that I'm doing this all on Petz 4, and not all of my breedfiles are unibreed, so I can't guarantee that they'll work in P3 or P5, but there is otherwise no limit on how many people can "adopt" any one creature.
About the Management
I originally played Petz way back when in the late '90s~early '00s and had a ton of fun downloading hexies and breeding freaky Petz for the hell of it.
I recently got the bug to play it again, but a) the game is nearly 30 years old, and b) I have a Mac now (and the games were originally only for Windows). Thankfully, a bunch of other people much smarter and tech-savvy than I also played and loved these games and worked very hard to not only preserve them, but make them easily accessible even on modern and non-Windows machines!
I downloaded the Petz 4 rip from Mazzlabs, and while it does come with PetzA, I replaced it with the fork from Ratshack, which allows for batch breeding (and makes the whole process SO much faster). To get it to run on my Mac, I use Whisky (which is very user-friendly).
I have also downloaded a CRAPTON of breedfiles from both the DOPP and the (working) sites listed at Fantazzled. (I am currently in the process of documenting where every breedfile I have actually came from.) With the help of LNZ Pro (a petz file-editing program, also running via Whisky), I even altered conflicting breedIDs to allow for even more options in the AC.
I currently have 364 (working) Catz breedfiles and 403 (working) Dogz breedfiles, both sans the original breeds. The majority of these are not based on actual or even realistic dog/cat breeds - I have shit like Pokemon and Neopets and arthopods and even a literal Mimic.
And let me tell you, they make some REALLY interesting babies! Which is why I made this sideblog, because I need to share these freaks of nature with everybody (without annoying my followers on my main xD).
Oh, btw, my icon is of one of my fave results from the union of a sea urchin and an ostrich. Her name is Brenda's Legs.
