Im aromantic demisexual OK? And I rly want to share my experience with it because I didn't have the same so maybe someone will find it relatable 🤍🖤💜💚

Important clarification!

I think is that I never was in a long time relationship, I am just sharing things I found out about myself through self reflection and a bunch of thought experiments

I assume you know what aro/asexuality is but just to clarify, demisexual it's is when you feel sexual attraction only to people who you share an emotional connection with

Because of it I liked through kind of reverse-aro/ace experience. I didn't have crushes, but I THOUGHT I had, and they always turned out being towards people, who later became my best friends. I was mistaking platonic attraction for romantic one over and over and over again.

Asexuality and aromanticity(?idk how to spell it properly) in general works a little different to me than I saw represented in media (closest thing was loveless by Alice Oseman, but is still wasn't entirely same). I don't feel sexual ATTRACTION to people, but I still pretty interested in sex. I just view it from the perspective of just another way I can spend time with a person Im close with. Im a little sick of people making a big deal out of sex. For me it is as good as playing super smash bros or writing a song together. An amazing time spent together regardless of what we were doing.

As far as being aromantic goes I am not that much different I think, but there is one thing...

Even though I am aromantic, Im still pretty much want to be in the relationship. I view it as more of a platonic thing, while still being interested in all the "romantic" stuff like dates, kisses etc.

My first ever rehearsal with a band that doesn't exist anymore (it was our first and only one rehearsal)

I literally just came in, taught them about Midwest emo, we played song I wrote and then we tried to play again but it didn't work out

So... for now this is my first and the only time playing in a band

Just a story about me

As a proud 2008 born gen z person I spent most of my life hearing stuff like

"Stop looking into your phone" "go back to reality" etc.

It's way weirder because I got my first fully functional smartphone 4 years ago and before I was mostly observing other people use their phones

And when I got mine, after half a year most of my time I spent were in music apps, listening to all different kinds of music

And it always felt unusual, hearing other people talking about some Jaiden videos, creepypastas and other internet treasures of 2010s in a nostalgic manner, when I only just watched all of it when I was 16-17 or never watched at all, because I was too busy re-reading the whole pjo series and trying to figure out my mental health

Even my sexuality and gender. I realized that this was a thing in 8th grade when I met my good friend now - Iskra, first queer person I met

Only three years after that I realized I was non binary and aro/ace

I envy people who realized all this way before and had so much time to just live with it and got comfortable with themselves
