me: wow things are actually going really well for once!
the crippling anxiety, waiting in the corner:
When I was growing up, I literally wasn’t allowed to express anger because I was so afraid of what would happen to me, and because the only expressions of it were incredibly destructive.
It got to the point where I was unable to experience anger at all. I’d killed my anger to survive.
Anger is good. Anger shows you that you’re still alive. Anger is the little piece of you that says, “You know what? I didn’t deserve it.” Anger creates boundaries. Anger is what helps you fight back against injustices and cruelty.
I’m fucking grateful that I’m now able to be angry at my abusers instead of still being that scared little girl who let people walk all over her.
So don’t let anyone tell you that anger has no place in healing, or that you’re recovering wrong.
Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go

i don’t like how endings in real life come on so suddenly without making sense, without much warning. one minute you’re in the middle of something and the next it’s all a very long time ago and you’re a different person and none of it is ever coming back
