Dylan McCreery was just minding his own business on the rainy night that Elena Montgomery showed up on his doorstep. It definitely wasn’t how he saw the evening going, but he couldn’t just leave her out on the doorstep. Elena confessed she was still in love with him and ah, it was sweet and all, but Dylan had moved on a long time ago. The only person in Dylan’s heart is Alice Wilson.
So, listen... Dylan knew nothing, okay? He could not be less in the know! He was just living life as the local mechanic, daydreaming about his future with love of his life, Alice. If weird things happened, he shrugged it off and just went with the flow, accepting whatever cover story was thrown Havensdale’s way. He was just living, being happy, you know?
But the morning after the prom, things got a little too weird, a little too hard to explain. Leo and Effy were in a car accident... in the middle of the frickin’ forest! If there’s one thing Dylan knows, it’s cars and something about that cover story just did not add up. Plus, everyone was being so strange about it if you asked the right questions.
Dylan wouldn’t have to wonder long about all the strange things happening in Havensdale. Founders Festival came along and it was like, boom! Light bulb-- That’s what has been going on. This was a Twilight Zone town. A supernatural hot bed. And what’s more? He finally realised that all the things he’d ignored or written off about Alice, made sense now. Alice wasn’t human...she was a werewolf. God, it was all just suddenly so obvious!
It didn’t take long living under the dome for Dylan to realise that he had to do something. He wanted to be able to help protect his family- his loved ones- and he didn’t want to be the human weakness for Alice. He didn’t want to be ‘collateral damage’. Dylan wanted Alice to turn him into a werewolf--- he loved her, he wanted to be with her forever. He had an engagement ring ready and waiting! ‘If you’re a bird, I’m a bird’ -- Dylan McCreery was all in. And Alice said no.
As things became worse and worse in Havensdale, Dylan lost patience. Behind Alice’s back, he approached Jake Howell and asked him the same question. Dylan then told Alice that if she didn’t turn him, he’d find someone who would-- Jake had already agreed to it. Alice didn’t want him to be a monster, like her. But she did it. And she was furious for it.
After that, things were tense, to say the least. Dylan survived and turned into a werewolf, but he and Alice were barely speaking. It was devastating, but he knew in his heart of hearts, it was for the best. Dylan and Alice were both taken in by the Sparks Pack, living in their larger than life house and assisting the #Resistance however they could. The pack taught Dylan everything he needed to know about being a werewolf.
Slowly, slowly, slowly... Alice came around, mostly. Dylan has been trying to help her see that they are not monsters, they’re just different. They’re still the same people they’ve always been-- just with claws, sometimes. Dylan is trying to teach her how to love herself. They’re making it work, you know? They’re getting there. Dylan is just... fixin’ cars and fixin’ hearts.
