#Repost @donaldd777 with @repostapp ・・・ Although it is almost summer (officially) the colorful vine maple leaves in this photo almost look like a scene from autumn and contrast nicely with the spring blooming foxgloves lining the hillsides along North Fork Road near North Bend, Washington, with a peek at Mount Si in the background. Foxglove (digitalis) blooms are lovely and bell-like. Foxglove is useful in the manufacture of certain heart medications to treat atrial fibrillation, among other things. However, the plant is toxic to humans and animals, including all classes of livestock. The plant’s poisonous reputation has earned it the nicknames, “witch’s glove” and “dead man’s bells.” So if you are out on a photo hike, be careful if you are thinking about picking a bouquet to take home. On the other hand, I’ve seen a photo from one friend in Eastern Washington who has already picked some huckleberries!
