The art of biting the hand
Donât bite the hand that feeds you by refraining, Refrain from sinking your sharp teeth into the hand, Only because it cares enough to feed you, It âcares enough to tryâ
Donât bite the hand that feeds you out of pure trepidation, Trepidation that youâll be put down or labeled a violent dog, You canât bare your teeth as an act of self-defense, For itâll be misconstrued as an act of unjust violence
Donât bite the hand that feeds you to revolt against mistreatment, Mistreatment that you and many others suffer by the hand, It doesnât matter to them that you need better food, That you deserve something more than rotten food
Donât bite the hand that feeds you because they donât care, Care about you or many others because you are a second-thought, You get the table scraps that leave you yearning for more, Not the precious dinner that would make you full
Donât bite the hand that feeds you at any cost, Costing you your very own livelihood and reputation, You are the dog they never wanted to have, Theyâd rather leave to freeze in the doghouse than let you inside
Donât bite the hand that feeds you to bring attention to the abuse, Abuse that no one cares to see, Barking and whining will only hurt you, No one wants to help an attention-seeking mutt like you
