hi! this baby’s name is sabaa & the doctors found shrapnel in her spine today. she’s not the only one in her family to be suffering, as her father & sister were injured in the same bombing of a tent nearby to them a month & a half ago. her mother was martyred in this same attack by the israeli army.

mohammed, sabaa’s dad, is a dear friend of mine as well as the ground organizer of @relief4rafah. he is more than deserving of your support. Please stand with him in this difficult time, urgent surgery is needed to remove the shrapnel from all three of their bodies.

Life outside seems easier than the 'prison life' we endure in Gaza. I try to imagine other places where life is difficult, but I realize that even the harshest environments are open; at least there is a way out. Gaza is a closed prison. A rocket could kill you at any moment, food and water are rationed, and the heaviest burden is being besieged by memories, destruction, and graves. It is a constant cycle of physical and psychological torment.

Prices in Gaza have started to rise unusually, and goods have almost disappeared from the markets. Types of vegetables are scarce and expensive, and meats have vanished from the markets too. I mean, what's happening is the beginning of a new famine; food is expensive and scarce in the markets!

Since Israel and the US have started bombing Iran, Israel has bombed Gaza almost every single day. Conditions in the strip grow even rockier than they were before. Food scarcity is a huge problem and the medical needs of the people are not being met. People are dying.

But behind these numbers are families like mine.

I am a father and a husband trying to keep my family alive in a place where survival has become a daily battle. I lost my leg, and even the simplest movement is painful for me. Yet I still try every day to find food for my wife and my child. Sometimes the only food we have comes from charity kitchens.

My child cries from hunger. My family sleeps in fear every night as the bombing continues. We are not asking for luxury, we are asking for the chance to live with dignity. My campaign and my story are real, and my only hope is that someone will hear our voice before it is too late.

Due to the war on Iran, crossings have been closed which sparked major price increases in basic goods like oil, sugar, diapers etc. Many families are terrified of the implications.
