Quick video of running more responsive arduino code. Had to completely rewrite arduino code to make it more responsive.
So plugging everything together now. Had to do arduino code again to make it more responsive
final look at the box and all its components sitting neatly inside.
after using hot-glue to seal our box we learned that the box, side supports to be precise actually interfered with screen placement so we had to do some cutting to expand bit in which screen will sit.
after getting feedback that kinect was overheating in old box, we decided instead of having awkward looking holes to cut out hole and put a computer fan to suck hot air out. since we already finished cutting with laser we had to do it oldschool way, with paperknife and patience
Spraypainting our lovely box black, and letting it sit overnight. I think we did 3 layers of paint.
Avoided ant unnecessary holes in front panel, platform for kinect is mounted on sides, also moved LED lights to the center of box.
New box, cut out and being put together for the first time
Laser cutting is always so much fun.
after fiddling around, decided on our final box design and hand drew proper schematics for our new box
Also had to find right Mac mini to get images and code off.
after taking dimensions of the old box, started sketching new. rough new sketches for new box.
I know that it is really bad thing to say, but i wish i had more to do with this project as the box containing screen, macmini and kinect was done quite poorly. So since Me and another course mate Chris were sot of missing out on this project, and we needed to somehow chip in to this project more, we made decision on rebuilding box, fixing few major issues and doing something with content they gathered while project was live. as the project will be live on graduate show again, we are remaking most of it.
#feeling left out
while project seemed very interesting and entertaining there was not enough time and stuff to do, as project got simplified. No photobooth to build, not using servers to send data and show it live, so sadly had only two options to do something what someone else is already doing or to site on the bench and quietly cry.
Image merging of the pictures, used in to get the average Mancunian face.
Apparently we will have a space in a library to use and we wont need to build our own photo booth. Also missed todays meeting because of food poisoning.
